She said: "I don't know who had a bigger crush on him at the beginning, my mom or me. I was like, 'No, maybe he's just too pretty. I don't want to be with someone who's better looking than me. That's like awkward.' "

Liam has also spoken about how the pair gradually became closer during shooting - on which Miley's mother Tish was the executive producer - because they were "each other's only friend".

Kylie, 41, must be planning a particularly huge spending spree if she needs to save up for it, as her accounts reveal she earned an average of over £11,000 a day - around £4.1 million over the year - in the UK tax year 2008 to 2009.

Emmy-winning actress Katherine Heigl is preparing to leave the U.S. television drama "Grey's Anatomy" after six years, sources told EW.com.

Heigl has taken numerous breaks from shooting the show to work on hit films such as "Knocked Up," "27 Dresses" and "The Ugly Truth." She also recently was out on maternity leave for three months after adopting her baby daughter.

Series sources told EW.com exclusively that "Grey's" creator Shonda Rhimes has agreed to release Heigl from her contract, and ABC Studios and Heigl's representatives are now negotiating her exit.

Heigl, who has starred in movies such as "27 Dresses," "The Ugly Truth" and "Knocked Up," has also been seen sporting a new hairdo.

Stepping out for lunch and headed to a nail salon in Los Feliz, Calif., the Grey's Anatomy star tossed her newly cropped brunette, almost auburn, hairdo playfully for the photogs. Go here to read more and see the photos

"L Word" Vixen Starring In USA Legal Drama

Sarah Shahi, who played Carmen the DJ on Showtime's lesbian drama "The L Word," will headline "Facing Kate," a legal drama at USA Network.

Shahi will play a top litigator who, frustrated with the bureaucracy and injustice she witnesses in legal system, decides to become the ultimate anti-lawyer: a mediator. USA has ordered 11 episodes in addition to its 90-minute pilot.

"Facing Kate" is the second female-centered drama to get the greenlight from USA this year. The cable channel earlier ordered the Piper Perabo drama "Covert Affairs."

The launch plan for the new shows is still being worked out but it is expected to follow the pattern of 2009 rookies "Royal Pains" and "White Collar," which premiered in the summer and in the fourth quarter, respectively.

Evan Rachel Wood, Guy Pearce Join "Mildred" Remake

Evan Rachel Wood and Guy Pearce will co-star opposite Kate Winslet in HBO's five-hour miniseries adaptation of "Mildred Pierce."

Melissa Leo, James LeGros and Brian F. O'Byrne also have been cast in the project, which was first turned into a 1945 feature starring Joan Crawford in an Oscar-winning lead role.

This time around, Winslet is in the title role as Mildred Pierce Beragon, a woman who separates from her unemployed husband, Bert (O'Byrne), and takes a job as a waitress while struggling to earn her daughter Veda's (Wood) love during the Great Depression in middle-class Los Angeles.

Pearce will play Mildred's lover, a wealthy playboy. "Ally McBeal" alumnus LeGros will play Bert's former business partner. Leo, Oscar nominated for "Frozen River," will play Mildred's good friend.

Todd Haynes is directing the adaptation of James M. Cain's classic noir novel. Production is slated to begin in April in New York.

Intense Times Ahead on 'Army Wives,' Says Catherine Bell

Fans of "Army Wives" can look forward to a "very emotional" fourth season premiere episode of the hit Lifetime series next month. That's the assurance given by Catherine Bell, who also says, "(I)n the first two segments, my character cries a lot. It's all very intense."

Could that emotion have to do with the fact that her character's son shot himself in the head during last season's closing episode? Is it possible he survived?
"I can't give away details without ruining the plot," she says. But she does add, "When you end a season with a gunshot, anything's possible."
It will be a season of disguise as far as her character is concerned. The former "Jag" actress and her husband, writer Adam Beason, expect their second child in August, a fact that will be hidden on the show.
"We're shooting episode six out of 18 at the moment," she says, "And right now, we're trying to figure out how to hide my pregnancy. I expect to be carrying a lot of laundry bags and grocery bags in my scenes."
Bell and Beason live with their 6-year-old daughter in Charleston, S.C., where "Army Wives" shoots. Bell expects to work until the season wraps in July. In August, she'll give birth via C-section and -- if plans pan out -- in October, she will be before the cameras making an action movie for Lifetime with Gale Anne Hurd. Written by Bell's husband, it's been in the works for a year and a half and has "just gotten a green light for its second draft. We're terribly excited. It has to do with a woman in the military whose husband gets kidnapped, and she has just one evening to save him and find out what happened." It is, she says, "very emotional."
IF YOU ASK HIM: Steven Weber and his cohorts on ABC's forthcoming "Happy Town" have wrapped their initial order of eight episodes of the spooky mystery drama that has to do with a series of kidnappings in a placid Minnesota hamlet. They'll start airing April 28, "and, given the way that television is done now, I'm sure they'll know whether they want more after the second episode airs. No, they'll probably know mid-point into the first episode," Weber opines. "That's the corporate approach to television: to calculate, minute by minute. That's corporate creativity, and it never works."
In fact, there is a long list of television's biggest series success stories -- like "Star Trek," "M.A.S.H." and "Seinfeld" -- that took time to grow on audiences. "I would say every one of them," stresses Weber. "Those critical and financially profitable successes have all broken the mold and have gone against network and corporate expectations."
The one-time "Wings" star, who plays a man obsessed with his lost daughter on "Happy Town," goes on to say, "Hopefully, people will recognize quality right off the bat and counteract any attempts to qualify and quantify it -- let the audience arrive at the show."
THE MENTOR FACTOR: Nick Swardson has gone from being Adam Sandler's protege to being a very successful comedian in his own right, but he says he owes everything he knows to the veteran comic. "He's allowed me to build my foundation, and he showed me every facet of making a movie. He's showed me a ton about writing, editing and producing. I couldn't ask for a better mentor," says Swardson, who wrote Sandler's movie "Benchwarmers," rewrote "Grandma's Boy" and produced "Chuck and Larry." "He works really hard, and he's given me certain opportunities so I work hard in return."
Luckily, the two comics get each other quite nicely. "It was a perfect bond because I grew up on his sensibility. I used to watch him in high school," he tells us. "When we started working together, it was a perfect fit because I already got his sense of humor. It felt like we already knew each other."
Swardson certainly has plenty of other projects on his plate -- like his new Comedy Central series "Nick Swardson's Pretend Time," which will debut in early October. We caught up with the actor on the set of the show during his lunch break. "I've worked with Comedy Central forever so they know my sensibilities and they trust me. That's one of the reasons I did it. They give me the freedom to do what I want," claims the funny man. With the show just wrapping, Swardson is next off to work with, you guessed it, Adam Sandler.
"It's a romantic comedy for next year. I play Sandler's cousin, but then in the second half of the movie, I have to hide out because I'm going to get killed so I play this German guy who becomes Jennifer Aniston's boyfriend."
HE FEELS THEIR PAIN: Former "Malcolm in the Middle" brother Justin Berfield is among the producers of Fox's new "Sons of Tucson" comedy, and already has a track record as a producer at age 23. Having gone through the casting and recasting process, he tells us, "Seeing the process from this perspective, I'm just thankful for the chance I had. I've been on the other end, and there are just so many things that go on that you have no control over." Berfield reveals that he will be seen on the show late in the season, playing a neighborhood bully.

GLAAD Media Award Winners 2010 - Cynthia Nixon Honored

Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon (pictured) has taken one of the top honors at the 21st Annual GLAAD Media Awards. The actress, along with The View co-host Joy Behar, was honored at the 2010 award ceremony in New York.

At the ceremony, Sex and the City creator Michael Patrick King presented the Vito Russo Award to Nixon, whose openness about her family has led to a greater understanding of the need for full marriage equality.
The award is presented to an openly lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender media professional who has made a significant difference in promoting equal rights for the LGBT community.

Accepting the award, Nixon said: "Coming out wasn't hard in 2004. But if it had been 1994? What would I have done? I'll never know. Only 10 years� difference and a whole different universe. Coming out wasn't difficult for me because of the work of many people in this room and because of the vision, tenacity and sacrifice of people like Vito Russo, who are no longer with us but because of whom there is a room - a room that has all of us in it."
Also at the event, journalist Meredith Vieira presented the Excellence in Media Award to Behar, who has shown a strong commitment to educating the public about the lives of gay and transgender people on her HLN talk show, The Joy Behar Show, and as co-host of The View.

Reality star Kendra Wilkinson (pictured) says she struggled to accept her new body after the birth of her son. The 24-year-old former Playboy model gave birth to son Hank IV in December and had her pals over shortly afterwards.

It didn't help that those friends included her former Girls Next Door co-star Holly Madison and Playboy star Tiffany Fallon.

She told Us Magazine: "I had my friends over, and it was bad timing. They were really hot and had really nice bodies." Wilkinson added that she was afraid her husband Hank Baskett would prefer their bodies.
She said: "I was just hoping Hank didn't look at them! Having a different body was such a culture shock. I'm so used to being hot and fit."

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Victoria hadn't had any contact with Corey for years but she was still shocked to learn of his death in such circumstances."

The overdose - which happened at the Los Angeles flat Corey was sharing with his mother while he helped her battle breast cancer - is thought to have been an accident, with four bottles of prescription drugs reportedly found near the spot Corey died.

The actor had previously openly admitted addiction to crack cocaine and prescription drugs.

Royal Opera To Stage Anna Nicole Smith Story

Britain's Royal Opera will stage the world premiere next year of "Anna Nicole," a work about the life of former Playboy model, actress and tabloid favorite Anna Nicole Smith who died in 2007.

The new opera, by British composer Mark-Anthony Turnage and writer Richard Thomas, will be staged by renowned opera director Richard Jones, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

Thomas was a co-creator of "Jerry Springer: The Opera," the controversial show that prompted thousands of complaints and street protests when it was aired on the BBC in 2005.

He has said the libretto for Anna Nicole would end with her death rather than focusing on the sensational court battle over the disposal of her remains and custody of her daughter Dannielynn.

Smith died aged 39 of an accidental prescription drug overdose in Florida.

At the time of her death she was embroiled in a long-running legal battle over the will of her late husband, billionaire oil tycoon Howard Marshall. They had married when she was 26 years old and he was 89.

Another doomed celebrity is the focus of "Adriana Lecouvreur," the 1902 opera by Francesco Cilea about the 18th century French actress who died in 1730 aged 37 and who was believed to have been poisoned by a rival in love.

Superstar Romanian soprano Angela Gheorghiu will play the title role in the new production, the first at the Royal Opera House for more than a century.

The Royal Ballet's 2010/11 season will feature "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland," a new work that is a co-production with the National Ballet of Canada

It will be choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon and hits the stage in February 2011.
