Teen heartthrob Justin Bieber is set to make his acting debut, guest-starring in the season premiere episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, while 1980s teenage popstar Tiffany has become the latest to speak out and defend Miley Cyrus's raunchy new look.

Justin and CSI -  CBS has announced the 16-year-old Justin Bieber will play Jason McCann, a “troubled teen faced with a terrible decision regarding his only brother”. The episode is set to air later this year, Access Hollywood has revealed. The singing sensation took to Twitter to keep fans posted about his preparation for the small-screen role.
“Morning world... we got the acting coach here... learning ‘a new craft,” he Tweeted. Bieber isn’t the only young musician to guest on CSI, with country singer Taylor Swift having appeared on March 2009.

Tiffany and Miley - Eighties' teenage popstar Tiffany has become the latest to speak out and defend Miley Cyrus's risqué new look. The 'I Think We're Alone Now' singer revealed she thinks Miley is on the right track for her career, and that being sexy is just part of the job. Speaking to US Weekly, the 38-year-old said, "Miley Cyrus is on a great track. I know that there are a lot of people that say, well, when you are so young you shouldn't be sexy.
"I think that in today's world you kind of have to be sexy to be competitive in the market. I think that she is doing it appropriately. And it's always a fine line there." She added, "I'm a huge fan of hers. I think she's gonna have a long career, praise to Cyrus's mum and dad, too."

Country-pop starlet Taylor Swift, who sold millions of records detailing the agonies of adolescence, said on Tuesday her third album will be a "conceptual" release directed at specific people she met during her dizzying ascent to stardom in the past two years.

"In life you have a lot of situations that pop up and people come into your life and sometimes you don't get to tell them what you wish you would have told them," the 20-year-old singer/songwriter told fans during an Internet broadcast.

"This album is my opportunity to do that. Track by track, each song is a different confession to a different person."

The aptly titled "Speak Now" will come out worldwide on October 25 through Nashville-based independent label Big Machine Records.

Swift said the first single -- "Mine" to be released on August 16 -- was a song of hope inspired by her recent tendency to run from love.

"I'm never ever going to go past hoping that love can work out," she said.

For the first time, Swift wrote all of the songs herself and she produced the album with Nathan Chapman, who produced her previous releases. An extensive world tour will follow, she said, although dates have not yet been disclosed.

Swift is helping to keep the lights on in the ailing music business. She was the top-selling artist in the United States in 2008 and No. 2 last year behind Michael Jackson, according to tracking firm Nielsen SoundScan.

Swift also boasted the No. 4 North American tour during the first half of 2010, according to trade publication Pollstar.

Her previous album "Fearless," whose songs she either wrote or co-wrote, has sold 5.9 million copies in the United States since its release in November 2008, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

It yielded four Grammy awards in January, including album of the year, making Swift the youngest winner of the music industry's top prize.

Her self-titled 2006 debut, which has sold 4.8 million copies, and her second album are still in the U.S. charts.

Country music star Taylor Swift met with fans for nearly 15 hours at the CMA Music Festival at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, organizers said.

Swift was scheduled to take part in a free "13 Hour Meet & Greet," but extended Sunday's event by nearly 2hours after she realized she couldn't meet all the fans with wristbands by the scheduled end time, The (Nashville) Tennessean reported.

"I'm hearing so many amazing stories from people," the newspaper quoted Swift as saying. "And I'm seeing a lot of tattoos: Not like biker tattoos, but girls with little ankle tattoos that say 'Fearless.'"

"Fearless" is the name of Swift's most recent album, which has won numerous awards including a Grammy for best album.

Swift talked to about 2,000 fans, The Tennessean said.

Taylor Swift loves Lady Gaga.

The 'Love Story' singer was delighted to hear the 'Poker Face' hitmaker has praised her as a "great songwriter" because she is such a big fan of the eccentric star.

She said: "I'm a huge fan of hers and hearing that really, really made me smile. I appreciated that.

"That absolutely made my day when I read that because I'm a huge fan of hers."

Taylor Swift copes with her emotions by writing songs.

The 20-year-old 'Love Story' songstress - who was famously dumped by Joe Jonas on the phone - revealed she can only get closure on something once she has processed what she's feeling and transferred it into a song.

She told America's Marie Claire magazine: "Everyone in my life knows whenever something happens the only way it's going to be over and finished and put to bed is if it's written about.

"Right now, the number one priority in my life is figuring out how to process what I'm feeling and translate it into musical form.

"It's like, 'Oh, my God, I'm confused right now. What's the rhyme I could use here?"

Joe Jonas has split from Demi Lovato.

The Jonas Brothers singer - who has previously dated singer Taylor Swift and actress Camilla Belle - has decided to end his relationship with the actress but insists the break-up is amicable.

Joe, 20, said: "Demi and I knew going into our romantic relationship that it may not be an easy one. I realise over the time we have shared together that I feel I care more about our friendship right now. It was my choice to break-up, but I love her as a friend. She's been there for me when I needed her. I will continue to be her friend and be there for her."

It had been reported, Demi - who met Joe on the set of 'Camp Rock' in 2007 and began dating him earlier this year - was dumped by Joe over the phone but she insists that didn't happen.

Taylor Swift wants stingrays swimming in her home.

The 'Love Story' singer is renovating her apartment, and her odd choices of decor include a people-sized bird-cage and a pond in her living room.

The 20-year-old star said: "There's a pond in the living room and I want to get stingrays. I don't want people to think I'm crazy, but wouldn't that be cool?"

Taylor and her friends have given her new home a nickname to match its quirkiness.

She added to People.com: "My friends and I have been calling it things like 'The Imaginarium,' because it has all of these crazy whimsical things in it."

Country music couples - Miranda Lambert finally squeezed an engagement ring from fellow country music star and beau Blake Shelton.  She wrote on Twitter this week: "Well, Ol' Blake finally got a brain!!!...and, I didn't say no!!"

She also added a photo and it just happened to include a good shot of the ring.  Congratulations poured in for the pair as they prepare to marry.

The 28-year-old actor, who plays the role of Finn on the US show, was asked about Swift, 20, in a new interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
He said: "We're just friends. I don't know where the time is to date these days." It was recently claimed that the pair got close during a trip to the bowling alley with pals in March. Shown a picture of him with the Love Story star, DeGeneres said: "It doesn't seem like friends there!"

Cory Monteith doesn't have "time" to date Taylor Swift.

The 'Glee' hunk - who portrays Finn Hudson in the musical drama series - thinks the country singing sensation Taylor Swift is "lovely" but claims he doesn't have time for romance.

Speaking to US TV host Ellen DeGeneres, he said: "I don't know where the time is to date these days."

The 29-year-old actor - who was first romantically linked to Taylor, 20, after the Grammy Awards in February - denied he was in a relationship with the star.

He said: "No, we're just friends. It's cute. She's lovely."

Taylor Swift feels she leads a double life.

The 'Love Story' singer admits she is often left confused by the pressures of dealing with her music career combined with trying to retain normality away from her professional life.

She said: "Sometimes I feel like I lead a double life. One minute I'll be negotiating a contract and the next I'll be at home with my friends.

"It's always been like that, even at school. I went to class, studied for tests and had crushes on boys, and then after school I'd go downtown to Music Row in Nashville and write songs."
