Kate Gosselin and
Pamela Anderson both survived the first cut on ABC's Dancing with the Stars as
Shannen Doherty (formerly of the first version of Beverly Hills 90210) was sent packing. While Kate seemed more than nervous after her horrible performance this week, it was Pamela Anderson that joined Shannen in the bottom two.
While earlier reports have claimed friction backstage with Kate and Shannen, a new report this week claims the ballroom is turning into a battleground for the former Baywatch babe Pam Anderson and reality-TV mom Kate Gosselin on Dancing With the Stars!
“Pam can’t stand Kate,” a show insider reveals to Life & Style. “Kate’s like a little dog around her, latching onto her.”
The reason, according to the report, is Kate believes aligning herself with Pam will give her more exposure, says the insider: “Kate thinks it will help her career, so she’s trying to be all palsy-walsy with Pam. Kate thinks they have a lot in common because their private lives have been fodder for years and they’ve both had reality shows. But Pam’s laughing at her behind her back."
While a show rep denies any tension, Judge Carrie Ann Inaba says Kate didn’t exactly receive a warm welcome from the series’ fans.
“The night they announced the cast, I was tweeting along with it, and as they announced Kate, there was the most negative feedback,” Carrie Ann tells Life & Style. “It was so unfortunate. I think everybody just needs to give her a chance, just like everybody else.”

Astronaut Buzz Aldrin survived to waltz another day on television's "Dancing With the Stars" contest on Tuesday, as "90210" actress Shannen Doherty became the first celebrity to be voted off this season.
Aldrin, 80, the second person to walk on the moon in 1969, was saved by the public vote after having finished bottom with the judges following a stiff foxtrot and despite adding a little moonwalking to his Cha-cha-cha.
An eliminated Doherty, 38, said she had entered the show to please her father, who is a big fan of popular ballroom dancing contest.
"I think that dancing isn't really my thing," she said. "I'm an actor and it's what I love to do. I did this for my dad and I did exactly what I wanted."
Former "Baywatch" star Pamela Anderson was a surprise finisher in the bottom two after a sensual Marilyn Monroe pastiche earlier in the week.
But Anderson just scraped through, along with reality TV mom of eight Kate Gosselin, who was compared to a "Stepford wife" for her wooden jive performance on Monday.
A strong cast has attracted big audiences for the 10th season of the ABC series, which is the second most-watched TV show in the United States after "American Idol" on Fox.

Ex-Baywatch babe
Pamela Anderson (pictured) made her fame in a swimsuit (and less) and Pussycat Doll
Nicole Scherzinger performs in lingerie and the two women are part of the sexy Dancing with the Stars cast for 2010. Also announced, Kate Gosselin, the reality TV mom of the former TLC show 'Jon and Kate Plus 8.'
Her husband Jon Gosselin is reportedly upset that she has landed the much sought after gig on ABC and it will surely increase her visibility and is a good move for her career. ESPN beauty Erin Andrews, fresh off the horrid story of being filmed by a peeping tom through a peephole, will get a chance to introduce herself to a brand new audience as well.
The cast is filled with personality. Man-on-the-moon Buzz Aldrin and former Beverly Hills 90210 actress
Shannen Doherty will all hit the ballroom dancefloor in the new season of Dancing with the Stars.
The full line-up of celebrity dancers was revealed on US TV on Monday night and also includes reality TV mom-of-eight Kate Gosselin, sexy sports presenter Erin Andrews and Winter Olympics figure-skating gold medal winner Evan Lysacek.
It had been widely rumored that 90s pin-up Anderson would be on the hit show, America’s answer to the UK’s Strictly Come Dancing.
Host Tom Bergeron announced her as "the world’s sexiest woman" and moon mission astronaut Aldrin as "the original moonwalker”.
The show starts later this month, with the full line-up of 11 celebrity contestants completed by Brit actor Aiden Turner from US soap All My Children, actress and comedienne Niecy Nash, NFL ace Chad Ochocinco, and Jake Pavelka of reality TV show The Bachelor.

Making the most of the pomp and circumstance of Emmy weekend, Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty were spotted hanging out at the Entertainment Weekly and Women in Film Pre-Emmy Party last night (September 17).
The “Beverly Hills 90210” alum looked to be having a great time chatting and laughing as the paparazzi snapped up pics of them.
Looking back at her time on the hit ‘90s nighttime drama, Ms. Garth told press that she took a risk by getting pregnant with her daughter Luca Bella.
“There weren’t many actresses willing to have kids, because they thought it would jeopardize their career or their desirability. There was an actress on an Aaron Spelling soap opera who got sued for getting pregnant. I got pregnant right after her, while I was on an Aaron Spelling show. But I knew he’d be supportive; [90210 was such a hit] he couldn’t be anything but.”

Winona Ryder told us in Empire issue 241 that a Heathers sequel was definitely in the works. We told you it wasn't. But now, according to Variety, more Heathers is on the way, in the form of a TV series jointly produced by Fox, Sony, and Lakeshore Entertainment who own the rights.
The original movie is, of course, a dark tale of high school cliques and murderous rebels, starring Nona, Christian Slater and Shannen Doherty. Lakeshore's Gary Lucchesi says that the idea for a sequel or a remake had surfaced at various times, "but doing it for TV seemed like a fresh and original idea."
Jenny Bicks, who worked on Sex and the City, is on board as a writer and executive producer, alongside Mark Rizzo, whose only credit we can find so far is a TV pilot called Zip,
Heathers was a pretty self-contained story, and a sequel would have been tough to pull off successfully. Certainly its difficult to see how Ryder and Slater could have featured (maybe Winona could be a teacher at the school now; she told us that Slater would be back in an "Obi-Wan" capacity).
The fear is that it would have to seriously have its teeth pulled in these post-Columbine times, but we can see a TV series working, especially given the diary-entry structure of the film. Do you agree, or do you wonder what everyone's damage is?

Twentieth Century Fox is limbering up for a remake of Girls Just Want To Have Fun, the Helen Hunt and Sarah Jessica Parker-starring teen comedy about two friends who just gotta dance.
The film's plot saw new girl Janey (Parker) arrive in town and befriend Lynne (Hunt), bonding over their shared passion for dancing and a show called Dance TV in particular. On hearing that the show is coming to town, they're determined to appear, but Janey's dad disapproves and throws a spanner in the works.
The film also featured a young Shannen Doherty and Hank Azaria and was a bit like Footloose but not nearly as good and with even worse hair and outfits. For fashion horse SJP, in particular, it's proof that no one starts out well-dressed.
A Disney Channel reboot was rumoured to be in the works, with Selena Gomez or Ashley Tinsdale lined up to star, but we're guessing that that has fallen apart for this to be happening. The remake's set to be written by Michelle Morgan, who recently sold new scripts called Is He The One and Imogene. Let's hope she fits in just as many enormous hair bows and ra-ra skirts as the original.

Celebrating her 30th birthday, Jennifer Love Hewitt got all dressed up (a la Audrey Hepburn) before having breakfast at Tiffany’s in Beverly Hills on Saturday morning (February 21).
Enjoying her special day, the "Ghost Whisperer" beauty sipped coffee and munched on a bagel as photographers took her picture inside and outside of the well-known store.
Looking to be in high spirits, Jennifer recently offered her two cents on the Jessica Simpson weight gain criticism, drawing from past personal experience.
“Not everybody can be super tall and super skinny,” she told Us Magazine. “You have to look inside yourself and find your own confidence.”
Continuing on to offer Jess a little friendly advice, Love Hewitt says: “Ignore it, live your life and be happy.”

As Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week continues, Shenae Grimes can’t seem to get enough of the fabulous runway shows. And last night she was spotted sitting front row at the G-Star Raw Fall/Winter 2009 collection shindig.
The “90210” hottie was happy to pose for the paparazzi as she arrived at the Hammerstein Ballroom, sporting a black and silver sleeveless dress with black stockings and black high-heeled boots.
Speaking of “90210,” the CW hit series just keeps getting hotter as the season continues. And on next week’s episode, titled “Hello, Goodbye, Amen” it looks like there’s more drama on the menu.
Per the show’s Web site, “When Debbie (Lori Loughlin), Harry (Rob Estes), Annie (Shenae Grimes), Dixon (Tristan Wilds) and Sean (guest star Josh Henderson) spend the evening playing games, Annie overhears a phone call with Sean that raises suspicion. Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes) invites Brenda (Shannen Doherty) to attend a support day at her rehab center, but the day quickly turns upside down when Adrianna learns information that will cause her life to change forever. Brenda and Kelly (Jennie Garth) stand by Adrianna's side and Brenda reveals a secret she has been hiding from Kelly. Dixon and Christina's (guest star Lauren London) friendship continues to grow when she invites him over to her house, an invitation he hides from Silver (Jessica Stroup).”
