Is he looking for his own Angelina Jolie?  Or Jennifer Aniston?  Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford has said that he's a 'hot boy' and wants to be like Brad Pitt. The 24-year-old plays the role of Nate in the hit sitcom and he said he knows his good looks got him the role on the show.

He said: "I'm not ignorant to the fact that part of the reason why [Gossip Girl]'s popular and part of the reason [why] people want to see it is to be like: 'Oh, novelty boy! Hot boy! Pretty boy'"
However, he isn't opposed to that tag and said: "That's all fine and good. It is what it is." He added that he'd like to model his career after other stars such as Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Cruise.

More celebrity...Johnny Depp finds it difficult to accept the awards he wins for acting. Depp, aka Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean, was speaking after receiving a career achievement award at the Bahamas International Film Festival.
He said: "Whenever anybody says they are going to give me some kind of award, I'm always a little stupefied by the notion. The first thing I say is 'why? I just go to work like anyone else, except my job happens to be a little stranger." Depp said he enjoyed playing all of his screen characters. "I'm still amazed I get jobs after all this time."

Depp also revealed he will spend Christmas on his private island in the Exuma group. "The place is as close to paradise as anywhere you can get," he said. Depp received the award in Nassau from Sean Connery. Both actors have homes in The Bahamas. Festival founder Leslie Vanderpool described Depp as an "icon" who is one of the finest actors of his generation.
"What makes this tribute to Johnny even more special is that he has a home in the Bahamas and possesses a true love and appreciation for the region and culture," he said.

Paris Hilton reportedly had a fight with boyfriend Doug Reinhardt outside her LA home and the police were called. The 28-year-old heiress was reportedly arguing with Reinhardt, 23, outside her home in the early hours of the morning on Wednesday November 18.

An onlooker said to TMZ that Paris was in her driveway when Doug went to get into his car and Paris started screaming: "Don't go, don't go!" The eyewitness added that Doug then got out of his car and the pair started 'shoving each other' before both going inside. TMZ say that the LAPD responded to a call of 'drunk people arguing' and spoke to Paris before leaving.

More celebrity news...Shirley Bassey and Sean Connery, once teamed for Goldfinger, will be heard together in an animation feature Sir Billi. Connery's voice is featured in the lead role of the movie, while singer Bassey will provide the title song, Guardian of the Highlands. Other voices in the film include those of Alan Cumming, Miriam Margolyes, Ruby Wax, Alex Norton, Ford Kiernan, Greg Hempill, Barbara Rafferty, John Amabile, Larry Sullivan and newcomer Chris Jai Alex.
Husband-and-wife team Sascha and Tessa Hartmann created the flick, while Connery executive produced it, and it will be ready for distribution in 2010. Sascha said the song was written with Bassey's lightning voice in mind.
"There was no persuading needed here, I liked the song from the moment I heard it. Sascha and Tessa made the process incredibly fun and easy for me and we got a great result."

Norrington Submits Crow Script

Stephen Norrington, the director that kicked off the Blade franchise and caused Sir Sean Connery to retire after the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen debacle, has submitted a well-received draft script for his new Crow film, according to an anonymous source at Mania.

As we reported last December, Norrington is prepping the film for Relativity Media (The Wolfman, MacGruber) and has promised an "almost documentary style" to differentiate the reboot from the fantastical gothic original.

A "new character and storyline" are promised, so this isn't a remake per se, staving off the problem of having to exactly replace the iconic Brandon Lee, who was famously, tragically killed just before filming finished on The Crow 1.

But Norrington's Crow will have to work hard to avoid the pitfalls of the rest of the series, which staggered with City of Angels, reeled with Salvation, and finally collapsed choking to the floor and expired with Wicked Prayer. We won't even mention the TV series. Oh, wait...

All previous attempts to replicate the success of The Crow have fallen foul of what is a very limited formula: goth'd up zombie asskicker returns from dead for revenge, with a stonking alt-rock soundtrack. Even repeating Brandon Lee's look is problematic, since Eric Draven painted on the smile out of grief, bitterness and pure sarcasm, and its not at all clear why his successors did the same. We're thinking the formula could be tweaked (Salvation toyed with whodunnit; it could work as a Western a la High Plains Drifter; it could be retooled as something a bit weird and existential like Point Blank) but we're struggling to imagine how it can be made really different. Any ideas?

And while you're about it, Mania reports that the project is moving forward quickly and the producers are now looking at casting. Who are you putting in the leather pants?

Sean Connery is set to return to the 'Indiana Jones' franchise.

The 79-year-old actor turned down the chance to reprise his role as the father of the daredevil archaeologist in last movie 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull', and the script hinted his character Professor Henry Jones had passed away.

However, creators on the next movie, the fifth in the hugely successful franchise, are planning to bring Henry back.

A source said: "Steven Spielberg has been working on a script with George Lucas and there is an element of the story that could see Sean returning. Anything is possible in these movies and if Sean wants to return he will become central to the new story."

Earlier this week, Harrison Ford - who plays the title character - revealed he is ready to reprise the role.

He said: "The story for the new 'Indiana Jones' is in the process of taking form. Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and myself are agreed on what the fifth adventure will concern, and George is actively at work.

Sir Sean Connery may come out of retirement.

The veteran 'James Bond' actor - whose last part was voicing a character in 2006 film 'Sir Billi the Vet' - is set to narrate a movie about a war veteran's battle against military bosses.

The veteran in question, Ken McGinley, won a landmark case when he was given the right to sue the British Ministry of Defence on behalf of thousands of servicemen who were exposed to nuclear testing on Christmas Island in the Indian Ocean.

McGinley said: "Sir Sean was very interested in what we are fighting for. Having his backing really gave me a boost. I can't think of anyone better to help raise our profile."

More than 1,000 soldiers claim they and their children have been affected by cancer and deformities as a result of their exposure to radiation in the tests more than 50 years ago.

The EIFF award for the best new British feature film went to Moon, a "creepy, poignant and funny" sci-fi film directed by Duncan Jones. The film, which received a prize of 20,000 pounds, stars Sam Rockwell and Kevin Spacey.

Connery, a festival patron who gained worldwide fame for his portrayal of British secret agent James Bond, told a packed audience on the final day of the EIFF that the BBC had 300 technicians at the current Glastonbury pop and folk festival in southwest England.

"Not one (technician) at the Edinburgh International Film Festival," he said.

"It affects us all, it certainly affects me, and I think we should do something about it."

The BBC said in response: "BBC news outlets covered the Edinburgh International Film Festival on radio, TV and online. Obviously Glastonbury is a huge live music, arts and performance event and cannot be compared as like for like."

It said the BBC would cover the Edinburgh international arts festival and T in the Park pop concert later this summer.

In Moon, Rockwell's character has almost ended his three-year solitary posting mining fuel for earth on the moon with thoughts of returning to the planet and his family.

But as his return date approaches, life on his self-contained world takes a startling turn. The jury praised Moon for its "singular vision and remarkably assured direction"

The award for best performance in a British feature film went to Katie Jarvis for her role as 15-year-old Mia in Fish Tank, "an intense and surprising story of love, lust and family."

Jarvis turned 18 last week and said this was her best birthday gift.

Easier With Practice, directed by American Kyle Patrick Alvarez took the best new international feature award featuring sex, love and loneliness over the phone.

Best documentary award was taken by Aliona Van der Horst of The Netherlands with a lament for cult Russian poet Boris Ryzhy, who committed suicide in 2001 aged 26.

American director and writer Cary Jojo Fukunaga won the new director award for Sin Nombre centered on Honduran teenager Sayra and her involvement with a dangerous gang member on the run.

The Edinburgh film festival, which opened on June 17, has as one of its major aims discovering and promoting new talent in the industry.

It has run annually since its launch alongside the Edinburgh International Festival of the arts and the Fringe in 1947.

Curtis Hanson To Direct Gemini Man

Now this is good news to kick off the weekend – Curtis Hanson is in negotiations with Disney to direct the long-awaited, high-concept thriller, Gemini Man.

How long-awaited, we hear you cry. Well, let’s put it this way: in 2003, Empire named the screenplay as one of the twelve greatest unproduced scripts in Hollywood. By then, it had already been rattling around for several years. And, when it was first mooted as a viable project, Sean Connery or Mel Gibson were reportedly in the running to star.

Now, of course, Gibson isn’t quite the box office draw he was, while Connery is retired, so it seems likely that Hanson will be looking elsewhere for the big name required to fill the role of a retired NSA agent who finds himself the target of an assassin, who turns out to be a younger, faster, deadlier clone of himself.

See what we mean about high-concept? And, of course, due to the technology involved in having the movie’s star also play the younger clone, highly expensive. Which goes some way towards explaining why it’s taken over a decade, and several screenwriters including original scribe Darren Lemke, Jonathan Hensleigh and now David Benioff, to get this even remotely close to going into production.

But, as the likes of The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button have shown, age is no longer a barrier to CG, and so Gemini Man is coming together rather rapidly, for a possible 2010 release.

If Hanson does sign on, it’ll be his biggest film to date, and his first action movie (The River Wild doesn’t really count). Frankly, after his last film, Lucky You, flopped, he needs a hit; with the right casting (Clooney or Bruce Willis spring to mind), Gemini Man could well be it.

Jerry Bruckheimer will produce the movie for Disney; Mike Stenson, Chad Oman and Don Murphy will executive produce.
