Former Spice Girls star Geri Halliwell was booed by the audience as she made her debut as a guest judge on the hit British reality show X Factor. The singer was filling in for regular judge Dannii Minogue, who is currently in her native Australia while heavily pregnant with her first child.

And as Geri proved herself less than popular with the crowds, many fans were heard chanting for the return of Dannii on the judges panel.
Geri was later accused of being ‘awful’ and her comments 'not making sense' by fans who angrily took to internet forums to vent their feelings about the 37-year-old star.

The singer is reported to have angered fans by going against the crowd and refusing to put through a singer called Katie when she had the casting vote.
A source told the Daily Mirror: “Geri had the chance to please the crowd and many were shouting Katie's name. But Geri ignored them and turned Katie down, causing the crowd to go crazy."
Things quickly went from bad to worse as Geri allegedly later stormed off stage. Geri is the first in a line of guest judges invited to stand in for Dannii. Other stars who will join the panel include Katy Perry, Pixie Lott and Natalie Imbruglia.

Pixie Lott pretends to be a student so she can get half-price cinema tickets.

The 'Boys and Girls' singer - whose first two singles topped the British charts - has revealed she lies to staff at her local cinema so she can save money just like her friends, but admits it doesn't always go according to plan.

She said: "When I went to see 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' I wanted to get in half-price like my friends, so I pretended to be a student, but they knew who I was! I keep getting recognised now. even when I went out for dinner with my parents a few nights ago, I was sat there in my comfy clothes and boots and everybody kept coming up to me all the time! I don't mind it though."

The 19-year-old star quickly rose to fame after releasing her debut LP 'Turn It Up' last September. Although she now has a glamorous pop star lifestyle, Pixie has admitted she used to apply for singing jobs in her local newspaper in a bid to become a "Pop Diva" - and often had to lie about her age.

Pixie Lott broke down when she met her idol Mariah Carey.

The 'Boys and Girls' hitmaker surprised herself with her tearful response when she encountered the singer because she is usually so calm around other celebrities.

She said: "When I was little I listened to my mum's music. I sang all the big ballads by Mariah Carey. I met Mariah - she had a party in London and I got to meet her.

"I thought I'd be fine as I've met so many people but I shook her hand and started welling up. "

The 19-year-old British star is still embarrassed about the incident and wishes they had had a more notable encounter.

She told the Metro newspaper: "It was so embarrassing but I was overwhelmed, she'd been my idol since I was so young. Then she went to the toilet. She didn't give me any advice on how to be a popstar."

Pixie also admitted to having celebrities on the brain, as she recently had a nightmare about 'Bad Boys' singer Alexandra Burke.

She said: "I had a weird dream last night. I was robbed at gunpoint. They ran off with my bag, which had all my stuff in it, and I was thinking, 'Oh no, my mum's going to kill me.'

Pixie Lott doesn't realise when guys have a crush on her.

The 'Mama Do' singer insists fame hasn't helped her get any more attention from men than she used to but admits she never notices if someone wants to ask her out.

She said: "I don't know, but when I go out now, boys just come up to ask me to get a picture

- not to ask for my number! But I'm also rubbish at knowing if anyone is hitting on me. I'm just really friendly and think everyone is the same, so I never realise when someone is interested!"

The 18-year-old star admits she isn't currently single, but insists none of her romances are serious.

She added to Britain's Star magazine: "There's always a couple of options on the go - but nothing serious that you need to worry yourselves about. I'm so busy, I'm not ready for anything serious just yet - just fun for now."
