The TV star-and-fashion designer - who is engaged to Joel Madden - is free of work commitments and is focused on getting everything in place for her big day.

Nicole - who recently completed a tour of Europe to promote her new fashion range Winter Kate and her House of Harlow jewellery collection - told US talk show host Ellen DeGeneres: "I've been on the road. I just got home, and so it's really going to be now that's the time for me to sit down and think about what I want."

Although the 28-year-old beauty is ready to start organising her nuptials she and Joel - who raise two children together, daughter Harlow, two, and six-month-old son Sparrow - are yet to pick a date.

When asked by Ellen if she had a day in mind, she replied: "Not yet, but soon."

The reality TV star and the Good Charlotte rocker - who have two children, Harlow, two, and five-month-old Sparrow - announced their engagement last month but admit Nicole is the one in charge of the plans.

Talking about the wedding, Joel said: "It's the same thing as our engagement, we're kind of doing it at our own pace. We have no idea right now."

Nicole then quipped: "Like he has any say."

The couple are also disagreeing what kind of wedding they want.

Nicole Richie has been on a date to Paris - with her son.

The socialite visited the French capital's most famous landmark the Eiffel Tower with five-month-old Sparrow.

In the picture posted on twitter and her blog the doting mother - who was dressed in a brown coat and sunglasses - gives her baby a big kiss in front of the monument.

She tweeted: "In the City of Lights with my True Love."

Nicole - who also has a two-year-old daughter Harlow with her fiance, Good Charlotte singer Joel Madden - also praised the locals for their hospitality.

In another Twitter posting, she wrote: "Them Parisians sho is klassy! (sic)"

Nicole was in Paris promoting her new clothing range Winter Kate and today (26.02.10) she shows off her clothes and jewellery line at London department store Selfridges.

Earlier this month, Nicole talked about how her priorities in life have completely changed since she became a mother.

Nicole Richie has proudly revealed how she co-piloted a private plane – and then posted photos of herself sitting in the cockpit on her blog to prove it.  The reality TV star and clothing designer blogged about how she took the controls on a recent flight to Canada to promote her Winter Kate and House of Harlow 1960 labels.

She wrote: “This past Thursday, I flew to Montreal… and by flew, I mean I actually flew.  “My partners, Rick and Brian, let me be the co-pilot once again on their jet!”
In the snap, Nicole looks calm and collected at the controls, but joked: ”It was so much fun! Now, if only everyone else on the flight felt the same way.”

Nicole Richie designed her own engagement ring.

The TV star - who revealed her betrothal to Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden during an appearance on 'The Late Show With David Letterman' this week - worked with renowned celebrity jeweller Neil Lane on the band, which sports a flawless four carat, round diamond.

Lane told People magazine: "We designed it together. Nicole was lovely and wonderful to work with on it! She wanted a beautiful, special ring and wanted to be intimately involved in the design."

The jeweller - who has previously created pieces for a host of stars, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Madonna, Nicole Kidman and Charlize Theron - also revealed Joel let his wife-to-be have complete control over the design.

He added: "Joel just wanted her to have her dream ring."

It was on Monday (15.02.10) that Nicole, 28, confirmed she is engaged to Joel - with whom she has two children, daughter Harlow, two, and five-month-old son Sparrow.

Joel, 30, later revealed his joy with a posting on his twitter page.

He tweeted: "Yep. I'm engaged. Very happy. Yeah we've been engaged for a while so you're all kind of late on that. But Thanks for the hooplah all the same. (sic)"

Reality star Nicole Richie and singer Joel Madden have announced their engagement after having two children together.

Madden posted a message on the website Twitter on Monday that said he was engaged and "very happy," and Richie taped an appearance on television talk show "Late Show with David Letterman" on Monday in which she confirmed an engagement.

"We actually recently are engaged," Richie told Letterman.

Madden's Twitter post has since been removed, and Richie's appearance on Letterman is not scheduled to air until Friday.

Richie is the daughter of singer Lionel Richie and is best known for starring opposite celebrity heiress Paris Hilton in reality show "The Simple Life" from 2003 to 2007. Madden is the frontman for rock band Good Charlotte.

Richie and Madden have two children together, 2 year-old daughter Harlow and 5 month-old son Sparrow.

Nicole Richie is getting married.

The socialite confirmed yesterday (15.02.10) that she is officially engaged to her rocker boyfriend Joel Madden - with whom she has daughter Harlow, two, and five-month-old son Sparrow - when she appeared on 'The Late Show With David Letterman', showing off a large engagement ring.

She then joined friends at New York restaurant Abe and Arthurs, where she was overheard talking about her impending nuptials.

A source said: "She was glowing. She was telling her table how happy she was."

Good Charlotte singer Joel, 30, later confirmed the news - revealing they had managed to keep their engagement secret for some time.

He tweeted: "Yep. I'm engaged. Very happy.

"Yeah we've been engaged for a while so your all kind of late on that. But Thanks for the hooplah all the same (sic)."

The couple denied that they had plans to marry as late as last year, and were in no plans to rush into tying the knot.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden opened a playground yesterday (09.02.10).

The couple pledged to raise $35,000 through their Richie-Madden Children's Foundation charity in 2008 to build a playground at Los Angeles low income housing area Beyond Shelter, and are delighted with the completed project.

Despite uncharacteristically bad weather, which meant the couple's two-year-old daughter Harlow couldn't try out the new playground, the opening went well.

Nicole - who also has a five-month-old son Sparrow with Joel - said: "When we first started coming here, there were no kids outside. To see the place come to life and have a place to come outside and be kids, and have their imaginations run wild, it's really awesome."

Good Charlotte rocker Joel also announced he and his wife would be donating more money to charitable causes.

All proceeds from coffee cups designed by the Richie-Madden Children's Foundation - between now and March 15 - will go to charity, with a guaranteed minimum donation of $250,000.

The 30-year-old musician said: "We're humbled to be a part of it. Today is a big day for our family."

Joel set up the charity with Nicole when they learned they were to become parents and has previously said it just felt right to do something for disadvantaged children.

American pop star Ke$ha was briefly a BFF of Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie. But the singer who just eclipsed Susan Boyle at the top of the charts mistook Hilton's bedroom closet for the toilet and threw up in the wrong place.

Ke$ha aka Kesha Rose Sebert once sang backing vocals for Hilton. Now her single Tik Tok has hit No. 1 around the world. When asked about regret over the toilet incident she said, "No! Are you kidding? I gave myself a pat on my back."

Of Hilton and Richie, she said: "No, no, no, I have no interest in talking to either of those girls." Ke$ha's background is a little different to the hotel chain heiress's. The child of a single mother with her own music career, she has lived in a car.
She said: "Honestly, I can live off whatever, I roll with the punches. I'd wake up on someone's floor, tie some cardboard to my feet for shoes and go on my way. When I was really little, we were really broke."
"We would steal toys from Target if I wanted them. Money comes and goes and it's all just stuff anyway. I'm more concerned about being a good person and having a good time." She notes in her bio: "To be able to take my mum out to dinner is the best feeling in the world".

Former best friends Paris Hilton (pictured) and Nicole Richie had grown apart, but have reunited over the tragic death of Johnson & Johnson heiress Casey Johnson.  Life & Style reports the 30-year-old heiress’ untimely death has brought together childhood friends Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie, who attended a private memorial at Nicky Hilton’s LA house on Jan. 5.

"On such a sad day it brought a smile to my face to at least have one dear friend back in my life,” Paris told Life & Style. “With my traveling, I haven’t seen Nicole in a long time, and she’s been so busy with having her two babies.”

The magazine adds the former Simple Life stars, both 28, were girlhood pals who had an infamous falling-out in 2005 — reportedly over a betrayal by Nicole that was never disclosed.
The report also notes that though the socialites have been in sporadic contact since, a friend close to the girls says it took tragedy to re-seal their bond.
“Casey would be happy to know that even in this tragedy, she brought these friends back together,” says the insider. “Like any best friends, people can get in an argument. But at the end of the day, they love each other, and that’s what matters most.”
