Sharon Osbourne tried to "strangle" Piers Morgan when she met him.

The reality TV star - who is married to former Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne - had to be restrained by US TV talk show host Jerry Springer because she couldn't contain her hatred for Piers, who later became her fellow 'America's Got Talent' judge.

Piers said: "Sharon Osbourne went mental when I met her. She started screaming at me in a restaurant in Hollywood, then tried to strangle me.

"She called me a talentless, Simon Cowell-wannabe idiot. I knew it was bad when Jerry Springer, who was with us, decided to lead her outside."

However, former British tabloid editor Piers has since made friends with Sharon - but warns she needs to be treated with care.

He added to Britain's Nuts magazine: "We get on now. She's kind of a lion - you have to fight her in order to win her respect."

She said: "I was on a first date with someone and I was so nervous I think I had crossed my legs really tight and stuck them under the table and was leaning against them and at one point I got up to go to the bathroom and my leg had fallen asleep but I didn't know it so I stood up and fell into the next table."

"I was laid across it and the guy was like 'Are you OK?' I was hoping somehow that he hadn't noticed. The worst part was that I had to walk to the bathroom with a kind of limp, dragging my leg."

Meg Ryan and Matthew Perry are the new interesting and funny Hollywood couple, according to American magazine Us Weekly. Ryan, the 45-year-old former wife of Dennis Quiad, and the 37-year-old star from Friends, Perry, have been romantically involved for five months.

Adele Silva, the 26-year-old star from Emmerdale, has signed a contract bringing her on board of the new series of Hell's Kitchen.

According to tmz.com Paris Hilton has been released after only 3 days in prison. Can you spell "there's something rotten in the state of California". If it were somebody else you'd be rotting away in prison. She was originally sentenced to 45 days in jail. That was reduced to 23, and now she's out after only 3 measly days.

Actress Mary McCormack, who played Kate Harper on the tv show The West Wing, gave birth to a girl last week. It's the second baby for 38-year-old McCormack and husband Michael Morris.
