Mischa Barton owes rent on her New York City apartment, according to her landlord. A lawsuit has been filled to recover the money.  The cost is a whopping $7000 dollars a month for the fashionable pad.  The landlord wants Barton to pay the rent and legal fees, according to the lawsuit.

More news for Mischa...The actress has reportedly been annoying the cast of Law & Order: SVU with her "unprofessionalism". 
The 23-year-old actress is guest-starring as a prostitute on the hit NBC show, but sources have claimed that she has upset the cast and crew by fluffing her lines so badly that they only managed to get one scene shot during an entire day’s filming.

A source said: "She only had seven lines, seven! Each time she would mess up, she would forget her lines and Mariska [Hargitay] kept prompting her and saying: 'It's your line Mischa.'"
It is claimed the cast and crew lost their patience with the actress's “unprofessionalism” despite the fact that she apologised each time for forgetting her lines.

Mischa Barton has been sued for alleged non-payment of rent on her New York City apartment.  Barton recently located to New York to play the part of an aspiring model on The Beautiful Life that was executive produced by Ashton Kutcher.

The UK Mirror reports Barton's landord quoted the rent on the apartment, that carries a one-year lease from last September, at $7000 dollars a month.

The Beautiful Life was pulled after just two episodes. MRA Realties said Barton was three months behind in rent on the Tribeca apartment. She will also be liable for legal fees, according to the report.
Barton also resides in Los Angeles. She was made famous in the series, The OC.

Mischa Barton is being sued for not paying her rent.

The former 'O.C.' star has been accused by her landlord, M.R.A. Realties, of failing to provide her $7,000-a-month rent on her New York apartment for the last three months and the company has now filed a lawsuit.

While Mischa's representative is yet to comment on the claims, the landlord wants her to pay the rent and legal fees.

Mischa - who also has a home in Los Angeles - signed the one-year lease last September so she had somewhere to live while she filmed her TV series 'The Beautiful Life'. However, it was cancelled after just two shows.

Last year, Mischa was hospitalised after being placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold but has since spoke positively about the experience saying it gave her the chance to take time out and reassess her life.

The 23-year-old actress said: "I went to the hospital because of pain with my wisdom teeth and I ended up getting 'put in', but that's because I was so overwhelmingly stressed out and upset.

Mischa Barton thinks she is embarrassing to go out with.

The former 'O.C.' actress said she is so clumsy she would make a terrible date and that her awkward antics attract unwanted attention from the paparazzi.

She said: "I'm ridiculously clumsy, you'd never want to date me, I'm an embarrassment. I wouldn't even know where to start telling you the things I've walked into.

"I think that's why the photographers love me, they know I'll end up on my a**e looking silly, I'm constantly bruising myself or grazing my knees."

Despite admitting she is clumsy, the 23-year-old actress - who has been dated a string of famous men, including singers Luke Pritchard and Johnny Borrell - insists no men have ever left her.

Mischa Barton prefers kissing girls.

The former 'The O.C.' actress finds it easier to relax during lesbian scenes for her film and TV shows because there is none of the tension that can build up when she has to get romantic on camera with members of the opposite sex.

Mischa, 23, said of her lesbian roles: "I don't know why that keeps coming up. It doesn't annoy me that much. It's so much easier to kiss another girl. You're so much more relaxed filming and you can have a laugh. It can get a bit tense with a guy."

Mischa Barton's love scenes with other girls include in 'The O.C.', where her character, Marissa Cooper, had a relationship with Alex Kelly, played by Olivia Wilde and in TV series 'Once and Again', where she was pictured kissing Evan Rachel Wood.

She also famously starred in 2008 film 'You and I', about two teenage girls, and American and a Russian, how fall in love after meeting at a concert by faux lesbian Russian girl band t.A.T.u and subsequently get caught up in an underworld of drugs and murder.

Mischa Barton sparked a fight at a Halloween party.

The former 'O.C.' star was left furious when a reveller threw a drink over her at New York's Park Bar on Saturday (31.10.09) after she accidentally stepped on his foot, throwing her own beverage at the unnamed partygoer in retaliation.

An onlooker said: "I was standing beside this guy at the bar when Mischa went past us carrying two drinks.

"The next thing I knew he threw his drink over her back and she turned around and asked him: 'Did you just throw a drink over me?'

"The man responded that the drink was in retaliation for Mischa stepping on his shoe and she threw one of her drinks in his face."

The incident took an ugly turn when the actress - who was dressed as a peacock - returned to her table and told her friends, who rushed to confront the man.

Kicking off her week with some culture, Mischa Barton was spotted at the 2009 Whitney Museum Gala in New York City last night (October 19).

The “Oh in Ohio” actress looked stunning as she made her way inside the Whitney Museum of American Art, sporting a shiny blue gown with a yellow clutch.

And though her show “The Beautiful Life” has been cancelled by the CW Network, Mischa says she’s going to stay in the Big Apple rather than return to the West Coast.
