"The two spent the rest of the afternoon bonding over conversation and cocktails, fostering a new friendship while Steckler quietly observed, his Nikon loaded with black and white film, nothing more than natural Northern light pouring through the windows."

More celebrity news...A date has been set for the trial of Howard K. Stern, Khristine Eroshevich and Sandeep Kapoor in relation to the death of Anna Nicole Smith. The three are accused of conspiring to illegally provide the former Playboy model with prescription drugs before she died and will stand before a judge on August 4 a hearing revealed Friday.

Radar Online also reported that Stern can't wait to come back to the court and start the trial so he can be cleared. According to reports Stern also said that he is looking forward for the cross-examination part of his upcoming trial, stating that prosecution witnesses will be proven to be liars.

Photographs of Marilyn Monroe appearing relaxed and lounging around a New York apartment nine months before she died were unveiled on Friday after being held in a private archive for more than 45 years.

Photographer Len Steckler shot the black-and-white images of Monroe when she unexpectedly arrived at his apartment in December, 1961, to visit his friend, Pulitzer-prize winning poet Carl Sandburg. Steckler is offering them for a sale as a limited edition series called "Marilyn Monroe: The Visit."

The pictures to be sold -- four single images and two triptychs, or pictures in three parts -- show Monroe wearing pointed, thick-rimmed sunglasses and a short sleeve dress while talking and laughing with Sandburg. Also offered will be 250 prints of each piece.

"It was serendipitous with these two icons in their moment and me there with my camera," Steckler told Reuters, saying he was "like a fly on the wall" while he shot Monroe, then 35, and Sandburg, 83, while they chatted and held hands.

Steckler, a former commercial fashion and beauty photographer who is now "about 80" and lives in Los Angeles, said on the afternoon Monroe visited, Sandburg had mentioned in a casual manner that they would soon have "a visitor."

"Hours later I went to open the door and there I was face to face with Marilyn Monroe, and she looked more ravishing than on the screen," he said. "She said 'I am sorry I am late. I was at the hairdressers, matching my hair to Carl's.'"

Monroe's hair does indeed appear like Sandburg's in the pictures, almost white, said Steckler, and he added that after he took the photos, they all drank Jack Daniels whiskey.

"As we know, Marilyn loved older men, she loved the intellectuals -- and Carl was very parental with her," said Steckler. "It was a lovely thing to see."

The actress died in August, 1962, and Sandburg, who won Pulitzer prizes for his poetry and for a biography of Abraham Lincoln, died seven years later.

Steckler said he decided to sell the photos after his son discovered the negatives in a recent appraisal of his work, and Steckler thought "the current generation" needed to see them.

"I had forgotten about them," he said. "And I thought this would be a good thing to show and for them to talk about."

The pieces range in price from $1,999 to $3,999 and have never been published for public use.

They are on sale at www.thevisitseries.com and by phone with collectibles dealer Eagle National Mint, who is offering a certificate of authenticity for each print.

Cheryl Cole is the most photogenic woman ever.

The 'Fight For This Love' singer - who is the face of L'Oreal hair products - beat Audrey Hepburn, Beyonce Knowles and Marilyn Monroe to the title in a new poll of 4,000 British women.

A spokesperson for Nikon, who commissioned the study to promote their new D300 camera, said: "Cheryl Cole was a clear winner and is loved by the nation for her looks, dress sense and friendly nature."

Others to make the top ten included Angelina Jolie, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Megan Fox and Grace Kelly.

Cheryl, 26, has previously admitted that style plays a big part in her self-confidence.

Commenting on the infamous David Coma black and metallic dress she wore while on UK TV show 'X Factor', the Girls Aloud star suggested it wasn't a personal favourite.

Lady Gaga admits she was 'a monster' in her pursuit of stardom.
The bizarre singer made the admissions as she was interviewed as one of ABC News journalist Barbara Walters 'Most Fascinating People of 2009'.

"I was fearless with my ambitions. I had this dream and really wanted to be a star," Gaga told Walters.  "I left my family, school and said I want to do it alone. I got three jobs waitressing. I was good at serving Italian food in heels."
Gaga tells Walters how she styles herself on her idols David Bowie, Mick Jagger, Marilyn Monroe and Judy Garland.  "All the kookiness, the blood and the craziness is my way of trying to understand that image," she said.

"I'm part designer lover, part fashionista and part handmade garments on my own. I made a lot of my clothes."
She added: "My friends started to call me Gaga. They said I was very theatrical and that although I'm in pop music, there was a performance-art element to the show, like Freddie Mercury. So they said, 'You're Gaga'."

Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe - Test Drive

American actress Michelle Williams wants to inhabit the skin of Marilyn Monroe before she decides to take up an offer to play her on the silver screen. The former partner of Heath Ledger and mother of his child is a highly regarded actress who beat such stars as Amy Adams and Scarlett Johansson for the role in My Week With Marilyn.

But first Williams wants to "live" with Monroe for a while. The move might be seen as a make or break one for Williams, who has a blonde beauty not unlike that of Monroe.

But the part in the movie, which tells the story of the making of The Prince and the Showgirl with Laurence Olivier, is not meant to impersonate Monroe. "She’s not going to be a Monroe lookalike," said a source close to Williams in Brooklyn, where she and Ledger lived.
The movie will be based on a diary kept by Colin Clark, who worked for Olivier and was 23 and third assistant director on The Prince and the Showgirl. His assigned task was to keep Monroe, 30, out of Olivier's hair. The movie has been written by Adrian Hodges and is backed by BBC Films.

Marilyn Monroe Pot Video To Be Sold

A video of Marilyn Monroe smoking marijuana is to go up for sale.

The never-before-seen footage shows the late actress smoking a cannabis joint - a cigarette lace with the drug - while relaxing at a friend's home in New Jersey 50 years ago.

The silent film was shot by an unnamed filmmaker friend of Marilyn - who died tragically in 1962, aged just 36 - who confirmed the beauty was inhaling the drug.

The filmmaker said: "I got the marijuana. It was mine. It was just passed around. It was not a party. It was just a get-together. You know, come over and hang out."

Blonde Marilyn can reportedly be seen taking a puff on the cigarette, sniffing her armpit and giggling.

The video spent many years hidden in a loft before New York collector Keya Morgan bought it for $275,000.

Describing the footage, Keya said: "This is the late 50s so she is already very famous, but this is a personal side of her we've never seen before. People have never seen her in such a relaxed pose."

Film Said To Show Marilyn Monroe Smoking Pot

A home movie showing a relaxed Marilyn Monroe apparently smoking marijuana has surfaced, retrieved from an attic some 50 years after it was filmed.

The reel-to-reel silent, color film taken at a private home in New Jersey was recently purchased by collector Keya Morgan for $275,000 from the person who took the film, who has asked to remain anonymous.

Morgan and the person who shot the film gave Reuters permission to use it in shortened form. The copyright of the image will be put up for sale on eBay later this week, Morgan said.

At one point Monroe is passed a cigarette and takes a puff but does not appear to inhale deeply. The person who made the film confirmed that the cigarette contained marijuana, saying: "I got it (the pot). It was mine. It was just passed around."

"It was not a party. It was just a get-together. You know, come over and hang out," the person said.

Morgan, a collector of historical photos, manuscripts, autographs and documents, is also working on a documentary on the death of Monroe in August 1962.

He learned of the film during his research and tracked down the owner, who kept it as part of an archive that was moved between various homes over the years. The Monroe film had been stored in an attic for three years before Morgan tracked it down.

The actress appears happy and relaxed at a small gathering of friends that Morgan dates to 1958 or 1959, based on her appearance.

"This is the late '50s so she is already very famous, but this is a personal side of her we've never seen before. People have never seen her in such a relaxed pose," Morgan said.

A second attempt to sell a crypt on top of Marilyn Monroe's final resting place has failed, with not a single bid received for the burial spot in a celebrity-filled Los Angeles cemetery.

Widow Elsie Poncher is trying to sell her husband's crypt to pay off the mortgage on her Beverly Hills home. On selling the crypt, Poncher had planned to move her husband, who died in 1986, to an adjacent crypt intended for her.

But a $4.6 million bid submitted through online auctioneer eBay Inc in August fell through when the unidentified bidder pulled out.

A second auction on eBay with a reserve price of $500,000 also failed, with a notice on the online trading website saying it had closed with no bids on the marble mausoleum where Monroe was laid to rest in 1962.

The crypt is located at the Westwood Village Memorial Park cemetery, home to celebrities including Dean Martin, James Coburn, Roy Orbison, Truman Capote, Natalie Wood, Carl Wilson, Minnie Riperton and recent arrival Farrah Fawcett.

The space next to Monroe's vault was sold in 1992 to the publisher of Playboy magazine, Hugh Hefner, for $75,000.
