Kim Cattrall won't go "hunting" for men.

The actress - who reprises her role as maneater Samantha Jones in 'Sex and the City 2' - insists her on-screen persona is far more confident around the opposite sex than she is, as she is "hopeless" at meeting dates.

She said: "Am I at all like Samantha? God lord, no. I'm hopeless at picking up men. I've never gone hunting in that way. I'm no cougar. It only works for me if a relationship develops."

The 53-year-old star - who has been married twice - also claimed her previous relationships had failed because her career has always been her top priority.

The actress - who portrays man-eating businesswoman Samantha Jones in the TV series and films - is still shocked by the popularity of the franchise and finds it odd when she see pictures of herself plastered near her home in New York City.

She said: "It's very difficult because I'm so inside of it, I struggle to have any objectivity. But when I arrived home - I've been in London doing a play for five months - there were posters everywhere I looked!"

The 53-year-old actress believes 'Sex and the City' has been such a success because the four main characters - who are portrayed by Kim, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon - are relatable to everyone.

The 'Sex and the City' actress - who plays maneater Samantha Jones in both the TV series and on the big-screen - insists she doesn't know much about the opposite sex and just accepts people for who they are.

Kim - who has been married three times - said: "I'm dating again, but I know nothing about men. They remain a mystery to me, other than that they are predictable. I think a man shows you on the first date who he is, so that's when you should be very aware. But I don't think that you can change anybody. They are who they are. I think that's the secret to a successful marriage, or a successful relationship, accepting the other person for who they are."

The 53-year-old star also admitted she sometimes finds it tough being single but relies on her friends to get her through the hard times.

Sarah Jessica Parker and her 'Sex and the City 2' co-stars all slept together when they filmed the movie in Morocco.

The actress has revealed she, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis got very close while making the second film in the North African country and even got into bed with one another.

Sarah Jessica - who plays Carrie Bradshaw in the phenomenally successful franchise - said in an interview with The Sun newspaper: "Being away for that long made our bond even closer and I think you can see that on screen. We lived together, ate every single meal together, stayed in one dressing room together - we sometimes slept in the same bed together."

The 45-year-old star admits it was difficult being away from her husband Matthew Broderick, seven-year-old son James Wilkie and twins Marion and Tabitha - who were born last year via a surrogate mother.

Kim Cattrall doesn't wear underwear.

The 53-year-old actress - best known for her role as 'Sex and the City's Samantha Jones - believes it is healthier to have "more ventilation" by not wearing knickers.

She said: "My ultimate fashion advice is that it's a proven fact that if you don't wear underwear it's more ventilation and that's maybe healthier."

Kim - who is currently single - also claims she is happy with her appearance and has no desire to turn back the clock.

Kristin Davis has never been asked to lose weight by her 'Sex and the City' bosses.

The 45-year-old actress - who plays Charlotte York Goldenblatt in the films and TV series - is happy with her figure and insists she and her co-stars, Kim Cattrall, Sarah Jessica Parker and Cynthia Nixon, have never been pressurised to look a certain way.

She said: "You get a lot of criticism out in the world or on the internet about how you look. 'Fat here, fat there. Hippy this, hippy that.' That has been my entire career.

"But never at work. No one at 'Sex and the City' has ever asked any of us four girls to lose weight. Thank God."

Kristin is also very grateful to 'Sex and the City' for giving her an incredible career.

Kim Cattrall (pictured) has revealed the director of her new movie wanted her to pile on the pounds to play a former porn star. "He was very adamant about me gaining a lot of weight. He wanted me to gain like 35 pounds! Really, just for health reasons I couldn’t do that. I also didn’t have enough time to do it safely with a doctor’s care."

Cattrall's new movie Meet Monica Velour sees her star as an out-of-shape one-time adult actress. “What I did was I put on 15 pounds, and that was comfortable,” she said. “I just didn’t exercise at all.”

The role was a departure from the glamorous character of Samantha Jones in Sex And The City, Cattrall explained in an interview with New York Magazine.
“There were days when I didn’t even have any make-up on. There were days when they actually changed the light to make me look harder and more overweight or just more (messed) up”.

The 53-year-old actress - best known for her role as maneater Samantha Jones in 'Sex and the City' - plays an ageing prostitute in the film, and admits she did her best to avoid seeing herself on screen.

She said: "Most of the time as an actress, you want to look desirable, you want to be pretty, you want to be sexy, you want to be lit properly - whereas there were days when I didn't even have any make-up on.

"There were days when they actually changed the light to make me look harder and more overweight or just more f***ed up. I didn't see the dailies on it because I thought, 'You know, I've made a stand here that I'm gonna do this in a very truthful way, and if I look at them they might scare me.' "

Kim Cattrall thinks most of the women she meets have a crush on her.

The actress is always delighted to meet her fans but believes the person they really admire is her 'Sex and the City' character Samantha Jones.

When quizzed on whether her fans have girl crushes on her, she said: "It's true - they start at age 11 and end in their 80s. But it has nothing to do with me. It's projected on to a fantasy world that doesn't really exist. It's a super-warped reality."

Although Kim is happy women admire her, she insists she is nothing like her man-hungry alter-ego.
