Kelly Rowland once fell asleep on a date.

The Destiny's Child singer - who is currently single - once dozed off during a romantic cinema trip with a prospective boyfriend and was snoring so loudly her bandmate Beyonce Knowles had to interrupt and wake her up.

She explained: "Once I fell asleep. He was the nicest guy, but I just happened to fall asleep. We were at a movie and yes, he noticed that I fell asleep. Beyonce had to come up to me and say, 'You're snoring. We can hear you snoring back here.' That was so embarrassing."

The 'Independent Women' group - which also included Michelle Williams - are currently taking time off from the girl group to focus on their own individual projects.

However, the 28-year-old singer and Beyonce, also 28, are still great friends and haven't ruled out a reunion.

She explained: "If I'm in New York and Beyonce is in New York, we're there with each other. We pretty much like to stay in or we'll go to a lounge - it depends if we feel like being out.

Kelly Rowland demanded friend chicken and a special chair at Elton John's charity gig over the weekend.

The former Destiny's Child star told organisers at the Elton John Aids Foundation bash that she wanted "untold amounts of KFC" and a "love seat" before her performance.

It seems Kelly is undertaking an unusual diet - last week it was claimed the 28-year-old had banned chocolate from the gig and also needed a hypnotherapist to make sure she didn't succumb to her urge for the treat.

In the past Kelly has admitted that she sometimes allows herself to eat burgers and cookies when she gets lazy.

The 'When Love Takes Over' singer performed a number of her biggest solo hits, as well as some songs from her time in Destiny's Child.

Guests, including Lily Allen and Liz Hurley, enjoyed a three-course meal at the event which was held at London's Grosvenor House hotel.

They started with a winter salad of glazed figs, ham and goats cheese mousse, followed by sea bass and potatoes with a chocolate truffle with blackberries for desert.

Rapper 50 Cent says former Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland "never received the superstar treatment" that Beyonce got in the girl group. And he's doing his bit to fix that.

Rowland co-stars in his "Baby By Me" video, which premiered on the Internet Monday. The track appears on his "Before I Self Destruct" album, now due November 16 via Interscope. It marks his follow-up to 2007's "Curtis," which peaked at No. 2 on the U.S. charts.

"You can't forget all the work she did with Destiny's Child," he told Billboard.com. "The difference between Kelly and Beyonce is the extreme focus they put on Beyonce to make sure she was completely right. Kelly wasn't held in the same regard, so, in order for her to mean anything to America, they'd have to match the marketing dollars spent on Beyonce. She never received the superstar treatment."

The video finds 50 Cent meeting an around-the-way Rowland and day-dreaming about moving out of the 'hood and living a blissful life in the suburbs, where the happy couple resides with their three sons. But, after declaring his love and promises of sexing her up, 50 discovers the visions were all figments of his imagination, as Rowland is actually already married to another man, with whom she has a child.

Rowland isn't the only "Kelly" with whom 50 Cent worked on this project; he also collaborated on a total of three songs with R. Kelly, including one titled "Could've Been You," which made the final cut. But the album isn't all love, lust and sex, according to 50 Cent, who says there's a lot of "aggression" on this album as well.

"This album is the sequel to (his 2003 breakthrough) 'Get Rich Or Die Tryin' -- it has all the elements that I missed writing about on that first project," 50 Cent said. "That album translated the strongest and what I presented then was a lot of aggression. The actual album has lyrics about moments from my childhood, and I describe then from a child's perspective."

Beyonce Knowles wants to clarify the MOBO rumors while singer Kelly Rowland is asking the MOBO organizers for an apology after she claims her performance was affected by bad sound quality. Kelly, 28, sung a rendition of her latest track When Love Takes Over with David Guetta at the recent event, but she said she wasn't happy with the sound.

She said on Twitter: "OK. So, I'm at the MoBo's and getting ready to have a GREAT show with David and the MoBo's F'd my sound up!!!!! P****D!!!!! "HONESTLY, that just makes me work harder! But, what I will say is the MoBo's owe me an apology!!!! I was LIVID after the show! "I wanted you guy to be the 1st to hear it from me! rehearsals. were fine. soundcheck. was fine. performance, was a struggle at 1st."

More MOBO...Singer Beyonce has denied reports she is not attending the upcoming MOBO awards in Glasgow, Scotland because the city is "too white". Beyonce, 28, is nominated for an award at the bash but will not be attending the ceremony to pick up the gong. After performing for cancer patients at a hospital in Singapore, the singer was asked about the rumors and she said: "That's just not true."
Former MOBO panelist Paul McKenzie said: "The real problem is getting the stars to go to Glasgow. I can understand why the MOBOs went to Glasgow - because they were having problems getting the council to foot the bill for security. But it doesn't work." Beyonce's team are insisting that the star was just not able to attend the bash. An insider said: "The slur about Glasgow is just not true. Beyonce knows exactly where it is. "I think you'll find that Beyonce is not the type of person to be impressed by the idea that she would snub one city over the other. Glasgow was good enough for her when she toured the UK. She thought the audience were wonderful."

Reality star Kim Kardashian has paid tribute to Pink for a new UK show to find the World's Greatest Popstar. Kim, 28, will appear on the show that features celebrities picking out their favorite stars over 10 episodes. It will end with the singers being put to a viewer vote to find the greatest star.

Kim revealed on her blog that she is taking part in the new show that will be screened on Channel 4 later this year. She said: "I filmed this TV show called World's Greatest Popstars, a new show in the UK! The artist I was covering all day was Pink! She's one of my favorites and I was so happy to be doing a whole day devoted to her! "I was super tired that day so in between takes when they were resetting up the lights, I would lay in bed haha! We shot it in the penthouse at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles!"

More Pop...Singer Kelly Rowland said she is no longer "shocked" by Kanye West's behaviour after his outburst at the MTV Video Music Awards. Kanye, 32, shocked the world when he interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at the bash to say Beyonce's video deserved to win instead.
Beyonce's pal Kelly Rowland said: "We're not really shocked by what Kanye does any more, are we? But for that, we were because it was Taylor Swift." Talking about Beyonce's decision to give up her speech time for Video of the Year to Taylor, she said: "She's always so gracious - always."

Continuing about on day filled with fashion show stops, Kim Kardashian was looking lovely as she attended the Tracy Reese Spring 2010 fashion show at the Salon at Bryant Park on Monday (September 14).

The E! reality beauty posed for pictures backstage before taking her front row seat alongside Gabrielle Union, Ciara, Kelly Rowland, Reshma Shetty, Keri Hilson and Caitlin Crosby.

Prior to the Tracy Reese show, Miss Kardashian and her publicist, Jonathan Cheban, were side-by-side as they walked to visit Jacob the Jeweler and hit up the Jill Stuart catwalk session.

Kelly Rowland is "finally" happy after years of "living in fear".

The singer battled self-doubt after she struggled to establish her solo career following the split of Destiny's Child, but started to believe in her talent again when she achieved international success.

She said: "I feel empowered - finally! When you don't believe in yourself, you feel like you're living in fear. You don't give yourself the opportunity to believe that you can. And as much as you tell yourself you can't do it, you end up not doing it. Me? I was complacent and comfortable where I was.

"Here in America, sometimes my music didn't quite work, but overseas it's on top of everybody's chart. I've had more international success than domestic success, and I think that opens my eyes up to music. I mean, I just got back from performing in Lebanon. Lebanon!

"I don't ever want to get in a box to where I'm thinking that this is the only place that can ever exist. I love being overseas just as much as I love being home. Plus, I know all my eating spots over there now, so I'm good!"

Jamie Lynn Spears has reportedly called off her engagement to her baby daddy Casey Aldridge.  The 18-year-old, who is the younger sister of Britney Spears, got engaged to Casey when he proposed when she turned 17. The couple are parents to one-year-old daughter Maddie Briann.

A pal of the star said: "Casey proposed when Jamie turned 17. He gave her a gold band with numerous diamonds and one larger stone, bt she has given it back to him.

"It's been more than enough for her to adjust to new motherhood for now." The Zoey 101 star caused controversy when she announced she was pregnant in December 2007 as she was just 16 years old at the time.
More Britney - the pop star Spears has hired a pair of Aussie songwriting twins to make her a No.1 single, it has been claimed. The 27-year-old singer, who is still traveling the world with her hit Circus tour, has already set her sights on getting another number one track. She has reportedly asked Aussie twins Olivia and Miriam Nervo to pen a track for her. The twins were behind Kelly Rowland and David Guetta's recent number one single When Love Takes Over.

Kelly Rowland had an "identity crisis" because she was the only black girl in her school.

The 'When Love Takes Over' singer struggled to fit in when she was growing up and was unhappy with how she looked until she entered her twenties.

The 28-year-old star said: "Growing up, I had an identity crisis. I went to a school that was predominantly white and I was the only black girl there. I remember thinking I don't want to be as dark as I am, I want to be a little fairer. I didn't want to be me, and that was a problem.

"When I got older, I embraced who I am as a woman." 

Kelly reveals Tina Knowles, the mother of her Destiny's Child bandmate Beyonce Knowles, helped her learn how to love her appearance.

She added to Britain's Heat Radio: "The one person that helped me get out of my identity crisis was Tina Knowles. I remember that she sat me in the mirror and she was like, 'Girl, look at how pretty you are!'  She would really make me feel comfortable in my skin. 

Kelly Rowland doesn't feel "ready" to search for her biological father.

The 28-year-old singer - who has not seen her dad since she was seven - has refuted reports she is tracking him down, claiming she couldn't cope with the emotional upheaval at the moment.

She told Britain's Heat Radio: "I don't know who started that story! I haven't actually. I feel like I'm not really ready for that yet, I've enough going on in my life to really open that up. Maybe later on in about 16 or 17 months. I told myself I'd work for 16 long months and then I'd take a vacation or a break, but now is not that time for me."

Kelly and her mother Doris Rowland Garrison left the family home because her father was "drunk and aggressive".

The 'When Love Takes Over' singer has previously insisted she will meet up with him at some point in her life, adding she has no idea if he is even still alive.

She said: "I don't know where he is but I hope he's not dead. That would break my heart. I remember my dad being drunk and aggressive towards my mom but not me. It took courage for her to get away.
