Oscar-winning actress Rachel Weisz (pictured) is set to star as Jacqueline Kennedy Onaasis, according to reports. The 40-year-old Brit will take the title role of the former first lady and style icon in Jackie, set to be directed by her real-life fiancé Darren Aronofsky.
The couple have worked together before, on 2006’s The Fountain. First up, Weisz is rumored to be playing a villainess named Maria Fraudstein in Sam Mendes’ as yet untitled upcoming Bond movie.
More film notes...Prince Of Persia star Gemma Arterton has admitted she told the movie's director that she wasn't right for the part when she landed the role. Arterton, 24, takes on the role of Princess Tamina in the new Disney flick opposite Jake Gyllenhaal.
The actress admitted that she didn't think the film's director Mike Newell should have picked her for the part.
She said to UK's In Style magazine: "When I went to the audition for Prince Of Persia, I remember thinking: 'Disney princess? You're having a laugh!' So I went in being all cheeky chappy, not taking it seriously - and I think that actually worked in my favor."
She added: "But I had this big problem with it. Like: 'Why haven't you got Natalie Portman to play this part? Or Megan Fox or Freida Pinto? Why aren't you getting these girls?' "I actually said this to Mike. It took me so long to get over the fact that I was the totty in this movie. And, yes, I was in make-up for three hours a day. That's what it took! I had hair extensions, I had fake tan, I was in the gym..."
