Evangeline Lilly is "homeless and unemployed".

The actress admits she has found herself at a loss since filming her final scenes for US TV drama series 'Lost' in Hawaii but has only just realised the extent of her situation.

Evangeline Lilly thinks people have to stop having babies to save the planet.

The actress - who is been dating her co-star Dominic Monaghan since they met on the set of 'Lost' in 2004 - believes people are procreating at an alarming rate and must slow down their baby-making or adopt to "protect" the Earth.

She said: "For a very long time, I have had intentions to adopt. We have a huge population problem on Earth. We're not going to protect the Earth the way we need to protect it if we don't stop making so many babies."

Despite her views on adoption, the 30-year-old beauty is desperate to experience the "gift" of pregnancy and will "allow" herself one baby of her own.

Evangeline - who plays fugitive Kate Austen in 'Lost' - said: "I have always wanted to have a child of my own and I will always want to go through the gift that women have been given to experience that, so I hope to be a mother at some point. I think I can allow myself one child - and from then on, I think I would have to adopt. It makes sense not to add to the population problem."

Evangeline Lilly is happy to go to the toilet in front of her co-stars.

The actress had to overcome her inhibitions when she started filming TV drama 'Lost' - about a group of people stranded on a tropical island - in Hawaii, and claims she loses her dignity "all the time every day".

Evangeline is quoted as saying by the National Ledger website: "I'm the type of person who, when I'm in the jungle working with Matthew Fox, will just crouch beside a bush three feet away and take a pee."

The 29-year-old US actress also revealed she nearly turned down the role of Kate Austin in the programme - currently filming its sixth series - because she thought the script was poor when she first read it.

She added: "I kind of didn't want it. I actually said, 'That seems like a really c**p script'. Because we never saw the entire script, just little pieces.

"It was a plane crash on a desert island, I thought, 'Oh give me a break - dramatic Gilligan's Island'. Turns out it was f***ing brilliant."

Evangeline also added she is not interested in her hunky co-stars Matthew and Josh Holloway - who are locked in a love triangle with her on the show - in real life.

Evangeline Lilly is happy to squat and pee a stone's throw away from her Lost co-star Matthew Fox, the actress says. The 29-year-old makes her cheeky revelation saying that she loses her dignity 'all the time, every day'. Lilly says: "I'm the type of person who, when I'm in the jungle working with Matthew Fox, will just crouch beside a bush 3ft away and take a pee."

The actress, who plays Kate Austen in the hit TV series, says she almost snubbed the role.   “I kind of didn’t want it,” she says. “I actually said: ‘That seems like a really crap script’. Because we never saw the entire script, just little pieces.

She adds, "“It was a plane crash on a desert island, I thought: ‘Oh give me a break – dramatic Gilligan’s Island’. “Turns out it was (effin) brilliant.” And the actress says that, although it may grip fans, she’s not preoccupied with which hunky co-star her character ends up with on screen.
Either Jack, the doctor played by Fox, or Sawyer, the con man played by Josh Holloway, will do. “I’m not invested one way or the other,” she says. “Matt and Josh are like my brothers. I love them, but I could never go there. It’s like if you had two brothers and had to decide which of them you’d like to do.”

Evangeline Lilly wanted to be a flight attendant.

The 'Lost' star dreamed of travelling the world and thought working for an airline would be the perfect way to do it. However, the job didn't quite live up to her expectations.

She said: "I had no money. I was living on tea and peanut butter when I was a university student. I just wanted to travel so desperately that I would have done anything. I did the flight attendant training, which is gruelling and hectic.

"I did the job for one month and then I quit. I hated it so much. I didn't really get to see anywhere - I would go to Germany, and I'd be flying out the next morning. What's the point of that?"

Evangeline is grateful she became an actress because it has allowed her to travel.

She added to movie website Dark Horizons: "Now I can see the world. Last summer, I went to seven different countries on two different sides of the Atlantic, in two different hemispheres, in two months.

"I went to South America, to Argentina and Peru. And I went to Europe. I've also been to Japan and all sorts of other places."
