Emmy Rossum met her boyfriend on Twitter.

The 'Phantom of the Opera' actress, 23 - who is divorcing music executive Justin Siegel - said her blossoming relationship with Counting Crows singer Adam Duritz began after the 'Mr. Jones' rockers sent her a message on the social networking website asking her to sing with them.

She said: "I was on tour with the band this summer. They invited me actually on Twitter.

"That's how we met - on a dare. They dared me to come sing with them a song that I'd never sung before. So I ended up on tour with the band, and it was very, very fun."

Until now, the brunette had remained coy about her new relationship despite sources claiming to have seen her kiss 45-year-old Adam after performing together at a charity concert in September.

The 23-year-old actress has refused to confirm she is dating the Counting Crows star, but can see why women would be attracted to him.

She said: "I really can't say whether I'm with him or not. But I get why chicks dig him. He's extremely kind, incredibly intelligent, thoughtful, creative and respectful."

Emmy - who is in the process of divorcing music executive Justin Siegel, who she secretly married two years ago - avoids talking about her private relationships as she doesn't like playing them out in public.

She explained: "I don't discuss my love life because it's always misinterpreted or put under the microscope. It's especially annoying when you're dating someone else who's well-known, which is why I normally would never go out with a famous guy.

Out for a swanky event, Emmy Rossum attended the 17th Annual Hamptons International Film Festival in East Hampton, NY last night (October 9).

The brunette beauty looked gorgeous in a teal dress and was there for a screening of the independent drama film, “Dare.”

In the film, the 23-year-old actress stars as a girl named Alexa Walker and is a story about “three very different teenagers discover that, even in the safe world of a suburban prep school, no one is who she or he appears to be.”

Rossum’s rumored Counting Crows boyfriend, Adam Duritz, was also in attendance. “Dare” will be out on November 13th.

She’s always up for a fun evening out, and last night (October 8) Emmy Rossum was spotted at the grand opening celebration of the W Hotel in Washington D.C.

The “Mystic River” actress looked amazing as she made her arrival, posing for the paparazzi in a sexy black minidress teamed with a pair of black knee-high boots.

And it sounds like Ms. Rossum has already moved on from her secret husband Justin Siegel, who recently filed for divorce. She’s dating Adam Duritz nowadays, and they’ve been making beautiful music together.

The Counting Crows frontman told press, "She can sing her ass off. But she toured with us onstage, so I knew how she could sing. I sing with her all the time. I actually think she sings better onstage with us … I like to make music with her."

Enjoying a glamorous evening out in the Big Apple, the stars were out for the American Ballet Theater's Opening Night Gala at the Lincoln Center on Wednesday night (October 7).

Joining in on the red carpet affair was the lovely Natalie Portman, who quickly joined up alongside fellow actress Mila Kunis before making her way inside for the night's festivities.

Also on hand to check out the stage show was Emmy Rossum, who looked to be in a cheerful mood despite her recent divorce from ex-hubby Justin Siegel.

As for the Opening Night Gala, the schedule included a performance debut from David Hallberg in a new work by Alexei Ratmansky, as well as a new piece from Aszure Barton, set to Maurice Ravel’s Violin Sonata in G.

Enjoying some of her celebrity perks, Emmy Rossum was spotted at the Los Angeles premiere of “Orphan” last night (July 21).

The “Day After Tomorrow” actress looked to be enjoying herself as she strolled through the arrivals area, posing for the paparazzi in a black and white printed dress with gladiator-style heels.

Prior to the premiere, Emmy expressed her apprehension surrounding the horror flick. She tweeted, “Seeing "orphan" tonight. Hope I don't scream and embarrass myself. Or jump outta my seat. Both possible/probable occurences.”

And as it turns out, Miss Rossum was invited to sing back-up vocals by Counting Crows’ Adam Duritz at their concert last night, but she didn’t get the tweet because her phone was off.

Following the premiere, she tweeted, “@countingcrows That's the LAST time I turn my phone off in a movie! I was already at a premiere when you wrote back.How about temecula tmrw?”

Fresh off of a visit to New York City for Fashion Week, Emmy Rossum turned up in Seoul, South Korea on Wednesday (February 18) for promotional duties.

The 22-year-old brunette just so happened to be charming an overseas crowd as she pumped up interest in her movie "Dragonball Evolution" at the day's press conference.

In the film, which opens in theaters nationwide on April 8th, Emmy plays a character named Bulma, described as the "motorcycle-riding, gun-wielding, sometimes-partner to the film’s hero, Goku."

“She honestly believes that she’s smarter and can do everything better than everyone else…which means we have a lot in common,” Rossum joked about her latest role.
