Valentine’s Day star Emma Roberts has revealed that she sometimes forgets that her aunt, Julia Roberts, is a world-famous Hollywood actress. In an interview with US magazine Foam, the 4321 star said that she only recently remembered how well-known her aunt is after flicking through a magazine and seeing the Pretty Woman star in a Lancôme ad.

“It made me stop and think,” she said. “You go, ‘Oh yeah. You’re not Aunt Julia to everyone. You’re Julia Roberts. That’s crazy’.” The 19-year-old actress, who has recently signed up to appear in Scream 4, appears on the August/September cover of the US magazine.

Inside, she opens up about being part of an acting dynasty that also includes another aunt, Lisa Roberts Gillian, and father Eric Roberts. “Everyone tried to steer me away from acting,” she says.
“Finally, my mother let me go on an audition for [movie] Blow to shut me up, and then I got the part.
“Luckily, my family has been really supportive.”

Roberts made her screen debut playing the daughter of Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz in the 2001 movie about a drug-smuggler. Roberts also spoke about visiting her aunt on the set of the 2001 romantic comedy America’s Sweethearts.
She said: “I was seven and in the background of one of the scenes, which was so much fun. It was just my aunt and me. We hung out a lot. “I got to meet Catherine Zeta-Jones, which I thought was the coolest.”

Adam Brody, Marley Shelton and Erik Knudsen have joined the cast of "Scream 4," which began shooting this week in Michigan.

The film reunites director Wes Craven with Kevin Williamson, who kicked off a horror movie revival with his "Scream" script in 1996.

Original cast members Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courteney Cox are also returning, though the plan is to pass the baton to a new generation of slasher victims, namely Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Rory Culkin and Nico Tortorella.

Brody will play a cop recently graduated from college who was raised on the "CSI" TV series.

Shelton will play a deputy who knew Campbell's character in high school. Lake Bell had been in negotiations for the role.

Knudsen will have a role similar to the one played by Jamie Kennedy in the first two installments, a character who is familiar with horror movie conventions and a provider of comic relief.

To preserve the identity of the killer, Craven and Williamson are operating under several layers of secrecy, including not sending the script to agencies. At a table read last week, the actors were told to stop reading at page 75 to prevent even those already cast in the film from knowing the climax.

Brody recently wrapped ensemble indie drama "The Oranges," which also stars Hugh Laurie and Leighton Meester. He stars with Katie Holmes, Anna Paquin and Elijah Wood in "The Romantics," a romantic comedy slated to open this fall.

Shelton was most recently seen in director Sebastian Gutierrez's ensemble comedy "Women in Trouble." Other credits include "Planet Terror" and "Sin City."

Toronto-born Knudsen appears in the August release "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World," Edgar Wright's adaptation of the Bryan Lee O'Malley graphic novel series, as well as "Beastly," a CBS Films fantasy romance.

Emma Roberts will never "go topless" in a movie.

The 19-year-old actress - who is the niece of movie star Julia Roberts - is adamant she won't flash her breasts for a film role in the next few years because it is "tasteless".

She said: "I would show my back and my butt on camera, but I would never go topless.

"Going topless is so tasteless, and I prefer to leave all that stuff to people's imagination. But you never know what might happen. This is what I'm saying now, but in five years' time it could be totally different."

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly about the role, she said: "I'm so excited to be part of this groundbreaking franchise. It's the perfect opportunity for me to do something completely different than I've ever done before."

Roberts isn't the only new addition to the cast - as Hayden Panettiere and Rory Culkin will also be joining.
Talking about Roberts, Craven said: "Emma's talent, beauty and range will add immensely to the sophistication, intensity and fun of the Scream franchise as it returns to the screen once more."

Just last week, we reported on the latest casting developments for Scream 4 (or, if you prefer the awful poster version, Scre4m), with Twilight’s Ashley Greene offered the plum lead role of Jill. Now it would appear that negotiations may have fallen through with Greene, as Emma Roberts seems to be locked in to play the heroine.

All this, is still up in the air as, despite Entertainment Weekly reporting on Roberts snagging a main role, Dimension Films is staying quiet on who exactly she’s playing. And we suppose there’s still a chance that Greene could show up in some capacity.

Roberts is joining the established cast, which includes returning stars Courteney Cox, David Arquette and Neve Campbell, alongside confirmed newbie Lake Bell. And there are still rumours swirling around the casting of Hayden Panettiere and Rory Culkin.

“I’m so excited to be part of this ground-breaking franchise,” Roberts, who last appeared in the likes of Valentine’s Day and has a role in Noel Clarke’s 4.3.2.1, which arrives next week, tells the magazine. “It’s the perfect opportunity for me to do something completely different than I’ve ever done before.” Hope she’s starting her lung capacity exercises now, then.

With a script by franchise creator Kevin Williamson, Scream 4 (we refused to write it like the poster) will kick off shooting under the control of Wes Craven this June in Michigan. Stocks in fake blood and cheap plastic scream masks expected to skyrocket.
 

Julia Roberts doesn't give advice to her actress niece Emma.

The 19-year-old star insists she doesn't speak much with her aunt about their showbiz lives and they keep work chats to a minimum.

Speaking at the world premiere of '4.3.2.1' at the Empire Leicester Square Cinema, Emma told BANG Showbiz: "Does my aunt give me advice? We don't really talk about the business together. I mean, I'll visit her on set when she's working on a movie and she asks me what I'm doing but otherwise, no."

Discussing her latest role as downtrodden Joanne in '4.3.2.1', Emma claims playing a poverty-stricken woman left her feeling "humbled".

Stepping out for some shopping yesterday (September 18), Jessica Alba and daughter, Honor Marie, were spotted heading into the Apple Store in Hollywood, CA.

The always fashionable mommy and her little lady both looked cute in flats, jeans, t-shirts and short-sleeved sweater tops as they breezed past the paparazzi.

As previously reported, earlier in the week Alba checked out the latest fashion trends at the Narciso Rodriguez runway show as part of Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week.

And in February 2010, Jessica’s latest film, “Valentine’s Day” will hit theatres and is a sure-to-be-hit with its star studded cast including, Julia Roberts, Bradley Cooper, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Biel, Patrick Dempsey, Jennifer Garner, Eric Dane, Queen Latifah, Jamie Foxx, Emma Roberts, Shirley MacLaine, George Lopez, and Ashton Kutcher.

Ed Harris, Emma Roberts and Amy Madigan have all signed on the dotted line for What's Wrong With Virginia?, a Midwest-set drama, written and directed by Dustin Lance Black.

Like Black's Oscar-winning Milk screenplay, What's Wrong With Virginia? has a strong political flavour. Harris plays a politically-minded sheriff whose ambitions towards the state senate are hampered when his daughter (Roberts) begins dating the son of Virginia, a psychologically-disturbed woman he has been having an affair with for two decades.

What exactly is wrong with Virginia, we're not sure, and we're tiptoeing quietly around all this tangledness will impact the sheriff's political aspirations, but we do know that Jennifer Connolly will play her, while Madigan is the sheriff's cuckolded wife.

Harris steps in for Liam Neeson, who was originally attached to the project, leaving Neeson free to concentrate on his quadruple threat quartet of Zeus (Clash Of The Titans), Hannibal Smith (The A-Team), Alsan (The Voyage Of The Dawntreader) and, potentially, Abraham Lincoln (Lincoln). Feel the power. 

Principal photography on What's Wrong With Virginia? kicks off in Michigan at the end of September.

Continuing with her work on “Valentine’s Day,” Emma Roberts was spotted shooting scenes on the Los Angeles set yesterday afternoon (September 4).

The “Hotel for Dogs” actress looked to be having a marvelous time as she worked opposite Ashton Kutcher, looking cute in a purple shirt/green cardigan/jeans combo.

In related news, Emma recently finished work on her brand new Neutrogena commercial where she was a bit nervous about the famous “splash” moment.

Roberts told press, “I’ve been so nervous about the splash since I’ve heard about it. I always see it on the commercials and they’re always so fluid and beautiful. I know when I wash my face, it’s just throwing it on my face. I don’t look very glamorous with the droplets going up on my face.”

She continued, “The splash ended up being kind of fun. It was hard and I messed it up a couple of times because I was nervous. But I think it turned out really well.”

Showing off her fit and fine form, Emma Roberts was spotted sporting a yellow bikini top and distressed jeans in Venice, California yesterday (August 25).

The “Hotel for Dogs” hottie was filming an outdoor scene for the upcoming date movie “Valentine’s Day” and she sure looked to be having a great time.

In related news, a FOX news source recently revealed that Emma may be a little more of a wild child than she lets on, especially when it comes to her boyfriend Dathan Kuppin.

The source, who spotted Roberts and Kuppin at “Rock of Ages” on Broadway said, “His neck was covered with hickeys, and he wore a tank top to show them off. [Roberts] was snubbing the cast [of Rock of Ages] and didn’t talk to anyone even though she came back to take pictures with them.”
