Animal rights activists are upset with
Elle Macpherson. The beautiful supermodel is under fire for using powdered rhino horn as a beauty therapy, a Chinese medicine which is banned worldwide, reports Sky News UK.
The Australian beauty revealed in an interview with Britain's Sunday Times - conducted via Twitter.com - that she ingests powdered rhinoceros horn for medicinal purposes, reports the Toronto Sun.
More notes on the supermodel - Macpherson has hit out at her Britain's Next Top Model co-star Julien Macdonald after he claimed only skinny girls should be models.
Elle, 47, was enraged when the fashion designer claimed contestant Simone Clark, a size 10, was 'plus-size'. She said to UK newspaper The Sun: "We've got beautiful girls in all different shapes and sizes on the show. As far as I'm concerned, we have a great variety going on here."
Macpherson has taken over the role of host of the show from
Lisa Snowdon. She added: "There's too much emphasis on models' sizes. As far as I'm concerned, I don't have an issue with people's bodies."

Is
Uma Thurman single? Hollywood beauty Uma Thurman has split from her one-time husband to be Arki Busson. Thurman, who has two children with actor Ethan Hawke, and Busson, who has two children with
Elle Macpherson, announced their engagement last summer. “The engagement ended a while back — but they remain friends,” a source told the UK’s Daily Mail. More love life reports for Uma that include British heartthrob Rob Pattinson.
Madonna ruffled feathers on her recent trip to London by acting like a prima donna, says a British report. Settling into her Soho Hotel suite, Madonna did not like the way things were arranged for media interviews. Her fault-finding included the shade of the chair and the color of the lights.
The Mirror reports that a TV source said: "We knew Madonna was tough but had no idea she was quite so exacting. We had had specifications on lighting and camera angles before she arrived."
As an answer to the detailed claims a spokeswoman for Madonna, however, said: "Madonna was an ultimate professional throughout her day of interviews. And her favorite one was GMTV."
Citing an "impeccable" source, the paper said a similar thing happened when the singer was in Japan, reporting that she left a local reporter in tears after cutting her short during an interview.

Elle Macpherson claims life as a single mother is "full of laughter".
The Australian supermodel - who has sons Flynn Alexander, 11, and six-year-old Aurelius Cy Andrea with her former partner Arpad Busson - doesn't mind raising them alone because she gets to spend a lot of qualiy time with them.
She said: "Family life with the boys is loving, structured and consistent to create stability. There is a lot of laughter in our lives.
"I believe children's lives are made up of experiences, not of materiality specifically. It's not the toys they remember, but the time we spend together learning to ride their bicycle or camping trips or toasting marshmallows.
Although the 45-year-old beauty's career is based many miles away from her hometown, she works hard to maintain her relationships with her loved ones in Australia.
She said: "Australia means my family first and foremost - my parents and my brothers and sisters. I think a lot of my strengths in life have come from my Australian education. I love the people and I love the fact that everywhere you look you have a 360-degree view. There are no obstructions."

The Australian supermodel looked lovely as she tended to her boys, sporting a black sweater along with a pair of belted jeans and black flats.
And it sounds like Elle’s main squeeze may be asking for a loan in the not-too-distant future- hotel developer Jeff Soffer has hit hard times with his Fontainebleau property in Miami Beach.
According to a report, the multi-millionaire is having a hard time repaying his $670 million construction loan from revamping the iconic resort, and his investors are demanding he pay up.
A rep for Soffer told press that they are making their regular payments, and have scheduled meetings to work with investors who are getting cranky.

Supermodel Elle Macpherson is returning to acting with a recurring role on CW's drama pilot "Beautiful Life."
The project revolves around a group of male and female models living together in New York.
Macpherson will play Claudia, the owner of Focus Models, the top modeling agency in New York. She is an '80s supermodel who is still in great shape and runs her business with the efficiency and toughness of a dictator.
She joins Mischa Barton, Ben Hollingsworth, Sara Paxton, Ashley Madekwe and Nico Tortorella in the pilot.
Like her character, Macpherson was an '80s supermodel. In fact, along with Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell, Paulina Porizkova and Cindy Crawford, she became part of the first generation of supermodels.
In the 1990s, she segued into acting. But after appearing in a string of movies, including "The Edge," "If Lucy Fell" and "Batman & Robin" and after a recurring role on NBC's "Friends" in the late 1990s, Macpherson left Hollywood to focus on her business empire, whose portfolio of products includes workout videos, calendars, lingerie and beauty products.

Kelly Brook "doubts" she will ever want cosmetic surgery.
The 29-year-old star is happy with her body and admires celebrities who refuse to go under the surgeon's knife in a bid to look younger.
She said: "Elle Macpherson is in her forties and looks amazing, as does Lauren Hutton and she is 65. I don't have any body hang-ups.
"I have never wanted surgery and doubt I will. I would like to grow old gracefully."
Kelly, who is currently dating British rugby ace Danny Cipriani, says she has never been happier and credits being in love for her sunny outlook on life.
She added to Britain's Elle magazine: "When have I looked my best? Probably now. I am in love, healthy and happy. And I am older and wiser too!
"I am more sure and confident about who I am. I don't feel the need to apologise for myself any more."
The British beauty previously dated actor Jason Statham and was also engaged to American movie star Billy Zane.

Elle Macpherson hates being looked at.
The supermodel-and-actress - nicknamed 'The Body' because of her stunning figure - doesn't feel it is healthy to objectify women because of their looks.
She said: "As strange as it might sound, I feel uncomfortable when people look at me. I really don't like it. That's one of the reasons that I've almost never enjoyed catwalks.
"My view is that putting a woman on a pedestal for everyone's enjoyment is not a positive thing at all."
Despite her shyness, 44-year-old Elle insists she is glad she chose modelling as a career.
The 'Sirens' actress added: "I only regret that I occasionally ended up saying something that I didn't want to say and arguing with someone. Then I'd ask why I failed myself and end up blaming others for it."
