The Australian star admits she can't get enough of the classic deep fried British dish since she found out she is expecting her first child with her England rugby player boyfriend Kris Smith.

Dannii said: "As for British cuisine favourites - fish 'n' chips and sticky toffee pudding! Baby 'Smithogue' has been enjoying them too much."

The brunette beauty - who is a judge on Simon Cowell's British TV talent show 'The X Factor' - is a self-confessed Anglophile and has been dividing her time between London and her hometown of Melbourne for almost 20 years.

The 'Wow' singer can't wait to welcome Dannii Minogue and Kris Smith's first child into the world this summer and is already planning a spending spree for gifts for the new arrival - but admits she is concerned about the cost.

She is quoted by website Absolute Now as saying: "I haven't bought anything yet but trust me, I will be. My album better sell because I will be getting so much stuff. I am so excited."

Kylie, 41, must be planning a particularly huge spending spree if she needs to save up for it, as her accounts reveal she earned an average of over £11,000 a day - around £4.1 million over the year - in the UK tax year 2008 to 2009.

Dannii Minogue is thankful she's not having twins.

The 38-year-old singer - who is pregnant with her first child to her former England rugby playing boyfriend Kris Smith - hasn't found out the sex of the baby but is relieved that medical checks have ruled out a multiple birth.

She said: "I don't know if we'll find out what we're having, we haven't had a chance to think. We know it's not twins - the doctor said this morning that there's only one in there and Kris and I both sighed with relief! I'm so tiny, I'm not big enough to fit twins in there - I wouldn't be able to stand up!"

Despite being happy with her pregnancy, Dannii admits she took "some convincing" about starting a family with Kris because her own parents did such a good job raising their children.

She told Britain's Glamour magazine: "I have two loving parents who formed a family around me and I have it in my mind that I want it to be like that. I would only do it if I was able to recreate that and up until now, I've never been in a relationship where I was 100 per cent confident and had those feelings.

"Kris was ready from the word go and couldn't wait to start a family. I've taken some convincing, but we've taken the leap together and it feels right. Kris is The One."

Although Dannii - who was previously married to actor Julian McMahon - is content in her relationship, she is terrified of walking down the aisle again because her divorce affected her so badly.

The 38-year-old Australian singer - who announced earlier this month she is expecting her first child - was stunned when doctors warned she would struggle to conceive, but tried to pretend she didn't care her biological clock was ticking down.

She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "A while ago I went to my doctor for a check-up and he told me I'd got to the stage in my life where I'd have to make decisions about having children.

"I remember thinking, 'Oh God. I'm now that person who is getting too old to have kids.'

"I told him it wasn't an issue for me because I didn't have a man, there was no one on the horizon, and there probably never would be."

Things turned around for Dannii in 2008 when she met British ex-rugby player Kris Smith, 31, while holidaying in Ibiza.

The star - who currently splits her time between Australia and the UK - says Kris is a calming influence on her anxious nature, but admits they are currently having problems deciding where to raise their child, with the model applying for citizenship in her home country.

Pop star and talent show judge Dannii Minogue is expecting her first child, her spokesman said on Wednesday.

Minogue's London spokesman Simon Jones told Reuters in an emailed statement that the singer and her boyfriend Kris Smith, a former rugby player, were "delighted."

"Dannii and Kris are very excited and can't wait to start their family in 2010," Jones said in the statement.

A posting on Minogue's Twitter site also announced the singer's pregnancy on Wednesday.

"Woo hoo I'm gonna be a mummy! :-)," a tweet from the Australian singer said on her Twitter site twitter.com/danniiMinogue.

British newspapers had reported earlier that the 38-year-old was expecting a baby with Smith.

Pictures of a curvy Minogue out and about in Melbourne set off internet rumours at the weekend, but the star was reluctant to confirm her pregnancy before receiving results from a test.

"Dannii had her 12 week scan this week and was given the results today (Wednesday 13 January) with the all clear to make an announcement," Jones said in the statement.

Dannii Minogue will no longer have a job to go to in her homeland now that Australia's Got Talent has been canceled. Minogue got wind of the news that she would no longer be flying between the UK and Australia to join the judging panel of the show.

Last week, Australia's Got Talent was said to be seeking to bring back Kyle Sandilands, the rogue radio presenter it ditched after an explosive gaffe he made on air. Since dropping Sandilands, the talent show's had plummeted.

Minogue, meanwhile, had a disappointing weekend on The X-Factor in the UK when her protégé, Stacey Solomon, was eliminated on the Saturday. This follows the introduction of a new rule that reduces the competition on the final night, Sunday, to just two contestants.
An insider said: "Dannii loved being a judge on Australia's Got Talent. She will now be able to take some time out, but she won't be resting on her laurels." Talks about next year's X Factor are due to begin in the new year and Cowell has not yet formally approached the judges about their plans.

The BBC notes, "Last year's winner, Alexandra Burke topped the charts with her debut album Overcome in October this year and has had two solo number one singles."  The UK Daily Mail believes that "Victory was sealed on Saturday night when he held his own in a duet with George Michael."

Asked if the couple plan to marry, she said: "It's a possibility - watch this space! I never thought I'd be saying this but, yes, I've found the guy I want to be with forever."

"I'd given up on love but then, as a few girlfriends had told me, it's when you've given up looking that you meet that special someone."

The Australian beauty also admits she was too scared to approach Kris when she first saw him until a friend forced an introduction.

She explained to Britain's Cosmopolitan magazine: "I wouldn't have even spoken to him on that fateful night had the friend I was with not caught us looking at each other, finally saying, ‘I can't stand this anymore. I'm going to invite him over.'

Speaking about her recent appearance on the cover of elite fashion magazine Harper's Bazaar, the 35-year-old star - who has sons Brooklyn, 10, Romeo, seven and, four-year-old Cruz - also admitted she wanted the photographs to turn out well so she could look back at them with pride when she is older.

Dannii Minogue is at war with her boyfriend about starting a family.

The 38-year-old star admitted she is still unwilling to have a baby, although model Kris Smith is desperately trying to change her mind - but the Australian singer insists the only way she will agree is if he takes on all parenting duties.

Speaking at the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women Awards, where she was named Ultimate TV Personality last night (11.11.09), Dannii told BANG Showbiz: "He's very keen to be a dad and I'm taking some convincing. I said, 'If you can have the baby then fine.' If he does everything basically then maybe."

She later credited Kris for her happiness and recent successes, saying: "When you're having a good time both at work and in your love life, I guess it shows on your face. And it shows even more given that it follows on from some difficult situations last year. You get into a black hole, thinking nothing will ever be the same and you'll never be happy again, but then good things happen and you finally re-emerge.
