Charlotte Church and Gavin Henson split up because they didn't want to "ruin" their children's lives with their arguments.  The Welsh rugby player - who split from his singer-and-TV star fiancee in May - admits the couple's relationship had reached a low and they were both worried what effect their rows would have on Ruby, two, and 18-month-old Dexter.

He said: "It's no secret we weren't getting along. But we didn't want to drag it out for another couple of years. I couldn't have the children five or six years old and crying because we were arguing. I wouldn't want to tear the family apart then, that's horrible."
"I just knew it was going to ruin their lives if we'd carried on. I don't want them growing up with issues. By doing it this way they'll think it's normal to see mummy on some days and daddy on others. It was a brave decision but a sad one."
Gavin, 28, is still struggling to comprehend what went wrong in the relationship and admits he thought he would be with Charlotte, 24, for the rest of his life.
The 28-year-old sportsman - who split from his fiancee just six weeks after they got engaged - added in an interview with his friend, Ultimo lingerie boss Michelle Mone, for Fabulous magazine: "I thought Charlotte and I were going to be together forever. We loved each other but weren't good for each other. We were arguing a lot. Not over anything in particular, but these things build up and up. You either work through them or you don't. I guess we didn't."
Gavin is heartbroken not to be able to see his kids everyday but he is trying to convince himself he and Charlotte made the right decision to separate.
He said: "Being apart from them kills me. I just have to keep telling myself it's for the best and that Charlotte and I split up for their sakes."

Charlotte Church is moving into a new $1.9 million home. The Welsh singer confirmed she had split from her fiancé of five years, rugby player Gavin Henson, earlier this year. The couple have two kids together, and parted ways just weeks after getting engaged.

It was initially reported Charlotte was splashing out the vast sum on a property for Gavin, but it is not known when she will be moving into the mansion. “She’s in good spirits and back to her old happy-go-lucky self,” a source said.
Charlotte’s new home has six bedrooms and is set in three acres of lush greenery. It overlooks a golf course in Dinas Powys, near Cardiff. The 24-year-old was seen arriving at the property for the first time yesterday.
The details of Charlotte and Gavin’s split have not been made public, but they have agreed to remain friends for the sake of Ruby, two, and 17-month-old Dexter. “They fully intend to work together and co-operate in ensuring there is as little disruption as possible to the children’s lives,” a source confirmed.”
It is thought the pair will continue living close to each other so they can raise their kids together.

Charlotte Church's fiance Gavin Henson couldn't deal with her newfound success.

The rugby star - who became engaged to the 'Crazy Chick' singer just two months ago - is said to have been unable to "accept" how well her career was going after shedding weight and joining the judging panel on BBC1 talent search show 'Over The Rainbow'.

A source said: "Charlotte and Gavin have always had jealous rows, but they've become worse in the last six months.

"He couldn't accept that her career has taken off again, while his is on hold. All he did was dictate his opinions and criticise her being too thin and looking tired. In the end Charlotte snapped and told him she wouldn't take his c**p anymore."

The insider added the 28-year-old sportsman continued to berate Charlotte even when other people were applauding her success.

Charlotte Church and Gavin Henson have reportedly split just six weeks after announcing their engagement.

The singer-and-TV star and her rugby player fiance - who have children Ruby, two, and 16-month-old Dexter together - have apparently ended their romance after months of disagreements.

A source said: "It is an incredibly sad state of affairs. Both Gavin and Charlotte are deeply distraught. But after a lot of soul-searching, they realised this is the best course of action for them and the children. It was a mutual decision.

"To the outside world they were a golden couple. The truth is, they had the same insecurities as anyone else. Charlotte is very headstrong. In the end, Gav found it too much. He was blaming her for his rugby career stalling. She hated him going out drinking with mates."

Cheryl Cole's wealth has grown by 150 per cent in the last year.

The 'Fight for This Love' singer - who is the face of L'Oreal Elvive hair-care range and Coca Cola Zero - came fourth in the Young Music Millionaires aged 30 and under list with earnings of £10 million.

She was beaten to the top spot by Charlotte Church, Katherine Jenkins and Leona Lewis, who are all worth £11 million.

Dr Philip Beresford, who compiled the list, claims the statistics prove British women are working harder than ever and no longer need a man to be a success.

He said: "The girls are showing you can make it big if you keep trying. It doesn't matter where you come from. Drive and determination can get you the Hollywood lifestyle."

The highest charting male on the list - which is part of the annual Sunday Times Rich List published on Sunday (25.04.10) - was Craig David, worth £8 million, putting him at number seven.

Dr Beresford added: "Britain's women superstars are showing they have the talent and drive to make it big in their bank balances. And they can do it without the support of overpaid husbands or hangers-on."

Among the surprise inclusions were Joss Stone, who is worth £4 million more than Lily Allen with £9 million earnings and Katie Melua, who came in one place behind 26-year-old Cheryl raking in £10 million in 2010.

Charlotte Church has made Gavin Henson cancel his bachelor party.

The singer-and-presenter is reportedly worried about the rugby player's plans to fly out to Las Vegas with several of his pals ahead of their forthcoming wedding, and is insisting they throw a joint pre-martial party for their friends.

A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "He called up all his old pals and said he wanted to spend five days in Vegas drinking and partying.

"Gav wants it to be the party everyone remembers. All his friends are really up for it and his dad, Alan, is coming along too.

"Charlotte knows what Gav's schoolmates are like and reckons things will get out of hand. She's worried they'll shave his eyebrows off or get him arrested for something silly like being naked in the street.

Charlotte Church's family have reportedly banned her from getting married on an Caribbean island.

The Welsh chat show host and singer got engaged to rugby player boyfriend Gavin Henson in February, and said she was considering getting married this summer on an island the couple have previously visited - but her family are said to be against the idea as her grandmother may be too sick to travel.

A close friend told Reveal magazine: "Her grandmother has been ill and she would kill Charlotte if they got married abroad without her there.

"Charlotte is a Catholic and her family would love her to have a catholic wedding in the church where she was christened."

Charlotte Church is getting married in the Caribbean.

The singer-turned-TV star and her fiance Gavin Henson - who have two children, Ruby, two, and 15-month-old Dexter - are reportedly hoping to tie the knot on Paradise Island in the Bahamas in July.

A source said: "Gavin and Charlotte are planning to get married in July. Gavin picked Paradise Island in the Bahamas because he likes the idea of seeing Charlotte walking down the beach in a wedding dress.

"They're hoping to exchange vows on one of the island's stunning white beaches, then have a glitzy reception afterwards. It's the perfect place for a romantic wedding."

Despite reportedly considering the family-friendly Atlantis resort on the island, pals are confident the wedding won't be a tame affair.

Charlotte Church started singing karaoke when she took a break from work.

The 'Crazy Chick' hitmaker - who has returned to British TV screens as a judge on Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber's new talent search show 'Over the Rainbow' - realised it was time to return to the spotlight when she couldn't stop herself getting up on stage when out with boyfriend Gavin Henson.

She said: "I've just been at home child rearing and I knew I wanted to get back into music.

"I missed singing; every time we'd go out I'd end up in a karaoke bar and I'd completely steal the mic - 'Black Velvet', 'Walking in Memphis', 'Valerie'.

Charlotte Church is "tight" with money.

The multi-millionaire singer-and-presenter admits she won't splash her cash just for the sake of it and doesn't see the point of spending a lot of money on designer items when she can get it cheaper on the high street.

She said: "I love going to Topshop - I love it. I occasionally go on Netaporter.com if I need to get something special. To be honest, I'm a bit tight when it comes to spending my money and I don't see the point in spending £400 on a bag when I could buy a whole new wardrobe with that from Topshop."

Although Charlotte - who has two children, Ruby, two, and 14-month-old Dexter, with partner Gavin Henson - has splashed out on a luxury Welsh mansion and boat, she knows money doesn't make her happy.
