The UK Daily Mail reports Johansson put her stylish home on the market for less than she and husband Ryan Reynolds paid for the Spanish-style manse in 2007.
The house, built in 1931, is described as "stunning", with four bedrooms and five bathrooms. Johansson of Lost in Translation fame boasts famous neighbors Charlize Theron and Felicity Huffman.
Of note in the property is a giant center atrium and a chef's kitchen with a colorful period finish and retro-styled appliances.

Nicole Richie designed her own engagement ring.

The TV star - who revealed her betrothal to Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden during an appearance on 'The Late Show With David Letterman' this week - worked with renowned celebrity jeweller Neil Lane on the band, which sports a flawless four carat, round diamond.

Lane told People magazine: "We designed it together. Nicole was lovely and wonderful to work with on it! She wanted a beautiful, special ring and wanted to be intimately involved in the design."

The jeweller - who has previously created pieces for a host of stars, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Madonna, Nicole Kidman and Charlize Theron - also revealed Joel let his wife-to-be have complete control over the design.

He added: "Joel just wanted her to have her dream ring."

It was on Monday (15.02.10) that Nicole, 28, confirmed she is engaged to Joel - with whom she has two children, daughter Harlow, two, and five-month-old son Sparrow.

Joel, 30, later revealed his joy with a posting on his twitter page.

He tweeted: "Yep. I'm engaged. Very happy. Yeah we've been engaged for a while so you're all kind of late on that. But Thanks for the hooplah all the same. (sic)"

Hollywood split news - Two beauties are again single, sexy movie actress Charlize Theron has moved on from long-time boyfriend Stuart Townsend and TV star Kate Walsh (pictured) of ABC TV's Private Practice and Grey's Anatomy is now officially divorced from Alex Young after working out a settlement package. Follow both splits below.
One - Kate Walsh has agreed a settlement in her divorce from Alex Young, according to reports. The 42-year-old star was at the Los Angeles Superior Court yesterday facing off against Young working out a financial agreement. TMZ claim Young wanted several million dollars, but according to legal papers, he received $627,000 for his share of the community property.
Young also requested spousal support, but a judge refused and Walsh also got the pair's home, with artwork and furniture split between the pair.  

Young also gets half the residuals for the Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice episodes Walsh filmed while they were married and they have mutual restraining orders prohibiting each from harassing each other. Walsh married movie executive Alex Young on September 1, 2007.
They were married in the Ojai Presbyterian Church in Ojai, north of Los Angeles. On December 11, 2008, it was announced that Young filed for divorce after 15 months of marriage.

Two - Charlize Theron is single. Graeme Massie reports, "The South African-born star reportedly split from the Irish actor after nine years over Christmas. Theron was spotted at the recent Haiti telethon without her commitment ring.

The World Cup Draw will feature celebrities such as David Beckham and Hollywood beauty Charlize Theron will host in Cape Town on December 4, 2009.  Stuff NZ notes more celebrity buzz will also be included as, "112 Miss World contestants are among a crowd of around 3000 who will attend the draw at the Cape Town International Convention Centre where the 32 qualified teams will be split into eight groups of four for next year's tournament," as well.

More World Cup...Nicole Kidman has become the face of a bid for Australia to host the World Cup that is culminating in a mega-media event in Cape Town this week. Kidman, like David Beckham for England, touts Australia for the Cup as a "safe pair of hands" for "The No Worries World Cup" in a short film made by the Football Federation Australia that was screened for the South African High Commissioner in Sydney.

Australia is a rank outsider for the 2018 Cup but is regarded as a chance for 2022. Football heavyweights from the nation have flocked to South Africa this week for a giant Media Expo and other events that include a hospital visit on the invitation of Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Kidman is a self-described "soccer mum" whose children play at her home in Nashville.
The bidding for the Cup will become official on December 11 when countries present a binding ''Bid Agreement'' to FIFA. Of the glitzy South African bid fest, FFA's chief executive Ben Buckley said: "We believe Australia's credentials and our emissaries representing the young people of Australia will help set us apart and position us strongly. It's a high quality, competitive field that we're in, but we are very encouraged by the feedback to date.''

Charlize Theron raised $140,000 by kissing a girl.

The 34-year-old actress stunned guests at the OneXOne charity event in San Francisco last Thursday (22.10.09) with a foul-mouthed outburst after bidding for her offering of a trip to South Africa to watch a game at the soccer World Cup in 2010 and a meet-and-greet with Nelson Mandela raised just $37,000, and vowed to smooch the lucky bidder if the price was raised.

Referring to an earlier offering from Jeremy Piven which saw two walk-on roles in his US drama 'Entourage' sold for a total of $275,000, she said: "For f**ks sake! You can do better.

"There is no way I am leaving here with Jeremy Piven getting a higher bid."

Charlize - who took over hosting the event after 'Bourne Ultimatum' star Matt Damon pulled out due to a "family emergency" - was shocked when an unnamed woman offered the staggering sum but agreed to lock lips as the cheering crowd counted down the seconds.

On the heels of her “Couples Retreat” promotional tour, Kristen Bell was out hamming it up for her new flick “Astro Boy” at the Hollywood premiere last night (October 19).

The “Veronica Mars” actress looked to be in good spirits as she posed for the paparazzi outside Mann Chinese 6 Theater in Los Angeles.

And Kristen gave the boys plenty to drool over as she meandered around in her strapless black, white, and blue dress teamed with strappy black heels.

Miss Bell is part of an all-star voice cast in “Astro Boy” including Samuel L Jackson, Nicolas Cage, Charlize Theron, and Eugene Levy. The film opens nationwide on October 23rd.

It's all change on Hitchcockian thriller The Tourist lately. First came the news that Tom Cruise had left the project and been replaced by Sam Worthington. Then director Bharat Nalluri wandered off (he's yet to be replaced). And now we hear, courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter, that Charlize Theron has also departed, with Angelina Jolie in talks to replace her.

The beleaguered film so far boasts five writers (Christopher McQuarrie and Julian Fellowes among them) and is a remake of the French Anthony Zimmer from 2005: a classic innocent-caught-up-in-nefarious-shenanigans story about a tourist persuaded by Interpol to go undercover and trap a former lover who's now suspected of being an international criminal. Worthington is the unwary traveller, and Jolie, the shoe fitting perfectly we feel, would be the femme fatal: "one part seductress, one part action heroine".

The producers are Gary Barber, Roger Birnbaum and Jonathan Glickman for Spyglass Entertainment, and they must be getting very nervous about the projected start date of early 2010.

 

Naomi Watts is the most bankable actress in Hollywood.  She tops the  Forbes' Best Actresses For The Buck list. Jennifer Connelly is a second place finisher.  Kate Beckinsale is not on that list but is on top of another one.  British actress Kate Beckinsale has been named the sexiest woman alive by Esquire magazine.

Beckinsale, 36, is "beautiful, crisp, smart, tough", the men's magazine states in paying its annual tribute to her, which was last year bestowed on Halle Berry. Other celebs to previously be named sexiest woman include Charlize Theron and Scarlett Johansson.

Beckinsale may be best known for her part in the epic film Pearl Harbor, playing the tragic character of a navy nurse in love with two best friends, one of them played by a dazzling Ben Affleck.
