Gwyneth Paltrow has opened up about her struggle with postpartum depression. The 'Iron Man' actress has revealed she struggled to cope for months after son Moses, now four, was born in April 2006.

Writing in her GOOP newsletter, Gwyneth - who also has a six-year-old daughter Apple with her husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin -admitted: "When my son, Moses, came into the world in 2006, I expected to have another period of euphoria following his birth, much the way I had when my daughter was born two years earlier. Instead I was confronted with one of the darkest and most painfully debilitating chapters of my life. For about five months I had, what I can see in hindsight as postnatal depression."
Gwyneth, 37, has previously revealed she suffered from the condition but only realized what was wrong with her once she had overcome it.
She said: "I didn't know I had it until after it was over. I just didn't know what was wrong with me. I felt really out of my body. I felt really disconnected. I felt really down. I felt pessimistic."
Postpartum depression - also known as postnatal depression - is caused by an imbalance of hormones in the body after a woman gives birth. Researchers have found that depression is one of the most common complications both during and after pregnancy.
In her GOOP newsletter, Gwyneth also included a piece written by 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' actress Bryce Dallas Howard, detailing her own battle with postpartum depression which caused her to refer to her newborn son Theo as "it".
Bryce said: "It is strange for me to recall what I was like at that time. I seemed to be suffering emotional amnesia. I couldn't genuinely cry, or laugh, or be moved by anything."

She's just finished playing a member of the undead - controversially stepping in as Victoria in Twilight: Eclipse - but now Bryce Dallas Howard will tackle death with Clint Eastwood.

The actress has signed on to Dirty Harry's latest directing job, which will see him reunite with Invictus' Matt Damon for Hereafter, which sees three people (a regular American working man, a French journalist and a London school boy) touched by the reaper in different ways.

Eastwood is already busy shooting (how else will he finish three more films before most other directors have tackled one?) and the movie will take in locations across Paris, London, Hawaii and San Francisco before it's finished.

Planned for a December 2010 release, we're betting - given Clint's recent run - that it'll end up another awards contender...

Stepping out of their posh Canadian hotel, Bryce Dallas Howard and Xavier Samuel were spotted stepping out in downtown Vancouver on Friday afternoon (September 18).

The co-star cuties both looked in high spirits, flashing a few smiles as they continue to stay up north for the filming of the "Twilight" saga's third installment, "Eclipse".

And it sounds as if everything has been going quite well for the two actor's, who happen to be new additions to the immensely popular "Twilight" cast.

Getting complimented by actress Christian Serratos, she tells, “Bryce and Xavier are really great to have on set. Everyone is so professional and nice. It’s become a really huge, fun family.”

Given their overnight success story, you’d think Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart would have inflated egos. But you’d be wrong.

Costar Rachelle Lefevre, who plays Victoria in “Twilight” and “New Moon” told press, “When you go from being a relative unknown to being a success overnight, you definitely grow in leaps and bounds.”

She continued, “The thing that was most striking for me was the way in which they didn’t change. If you can weather the fire and come out on the other side and you’re still recognizable to everybody who knew you before, I think that’s indicative of a larger grace.”

As for being replaced in “Eclipse” by Bryce Dallas Howard, Rachelle explained, “I was devastated and I was shocked. But the truth is I am grateful for the Twilight franchise. I’m grateful for the doors that it opened to me. I love my cast. And I think New Moon is going to be great.”

Enjoying a relaxing evening out on the town to kick off the weekend, the stars of "Eclipse" were spotted grabbing a bite to eat in Vancouver on Friday (August 28).

With Robert Pattinson and Ashley Greene leading the way, the duo joined Peter Facinelli and Kellan Lutz at La Bodega Restaurante & Tapa Bar in the city's Gastown neighborhood.

As for their current "Eclipse" project, MTV reports tell of the third installment: "Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life."

With David Slade helming the director duties, the film has several new additions from the previous two movies in the saga, with Bryce Dallas Howard as Victoria, Xavier Samuel as Riley, Catalina Sandino Moreno as Maria, Jack Huston as Royce King, Julia Jones as Leah, BooBoo Stewart as Seth, and Jodelle Ferland as Bree.

She’s been working hard on the third installment of the “Twilight” films and last night (August 25) Bryce Dallas Howard enjoyed an evening off.

The “Eclipse” actress made off with her husband Seth Gabel for a date night in Vancouver, Canada, catching a movie at a downtown theater.

And Bryce has been dealing with a massive increase in paparazzi attraction ever since she signed on for the role of Victoria, replacing Rachelle Lefevre who played her in “Twilight” and “New Moon.”

Over the weekend, Howard and Gabel were spotted taking their 2-year-old son Theodore for a shopping excursion in the beautiful British Columbian town, with shutterbugs all around them.

Continuing along with a fun-filled weekend up north in Canada, the stars of "Eclipse" were spotted all over Vancouver on Saturday (August 15).

With Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson joining up with cast members including Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz, Bryce Dallas Howard and the others, the gang all rounded up for a "New Moon" viewing party.

Upon finishing up, many of the star-studded cast members were later spotted side-by-side at the local Kings of Leon concert.

During the gig, Robert and Kristen looked like the coupledom rumors might just be true - as they were seen having a great time together, with an insider revealing that they were kissing and laughing amongst one another throughout the show.

Maria Full Of Grace star, Catalina Sandino Moreno, is the latest fresh face to join the cast of the Twilight sequel, Eclipse. The Colombian actress, 28, will play a vampire – coincidentally called Maria – who builds an undead army in the third film of the Twilight series – The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

Moreno will join established Twilight stars Robert Pattinson, Peter Facinelli and Kristen Stewart in the movie, which is currently being filmed and is due for a 2010 release.

Earlier in the week, it was announced that Factory Girl star Jack Huston will play the part of Royce King II, while Bryce Dallas Howard will replace Rachelle Lefevre in a controversial casting.
Moreno was nominated for an Oscar for her role as Maria in Maria Full Of Grace in 2005.

Gearing up to shoot the third “Twilight” film “Eclipse,” Bryce Dallas Howard was spotted arriving in Vancouver, Canada last night (August 9).

The soon-to-be Victoria actress looked happy to meet and greet fans, signing autographs and posing for pictures before heading off on her way.

And according to “Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke, Bryce was actually the original choice for Victoria, though Rachelle Lefevre ended up with the role in the first two movies.

Hardwicke told press that initially the role was too small to warrant Howard’s interest, but in the new “Eclipse” flick, she’ll have a more substantial part.

Bryce Dallas Howard, 28, will rev up the Twilight series when she replaces Rachelle Lefevre, 30, as Victoria in next year's The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Lefevre's departure is being laid to schedule conflicts despite rumors she was in a love triangle and some surrounding her relationship with Kristen Stewart.

Howard brings her signature red hair and recent experience making Terminator Salvation to the ghoulish production. Erik Feig, president of Worldwide Production and Acquisitions for Summit Entertainment welcomed the addition.

"We are incredibly happy that Bryce has agreed to come into the franchise," he said in a statement. "Rachelle brought Victoria to great screen life and Bryce will bring a new dimension to the character. The franchise is lucky to have such a talented actress as Bryce coming in to fill the role."
Eclipse is due for release on June 30, 2010, with filming commencing next month in Vancouver. Howard's character joins Riley, who will be played by fellow Twilight newcomer Xavier Samuel.
