Brooke Burke, the winner of Season 7 of "Dancing with the Stars," is to serve as co-host of the U.S. dance competition series, ABC announced.

People.com said the decision was revealed Monday on the network's "Good Morning America" program.

"Dancing" co-host Samantha Harris announced last January she was leaving the popular show.

Burke is expected to replace her and work alongside co-host Tom Bergeron when the series returns for its 10th season March 22.

Burke previously served as host of the reality series "Wild On," "Rock Star: INXS" and "Rock Star: Supernova."

"She'll be able to talk to the couples backstage with the perspective of having been there herself," People.com quoted Bergeron as saying when he made the announcement on "GMA" about her hiring.

Pamela Anderson Shakes Up Vivienne Westwood Show

Actress Pamela Anderson wiggled down the catwalk to a whooping audience on Friday and Vivienne Westwood told fashionistas to fight economic crisis by wearing a back-to-front shirt.

Huge safety blankets folded into coats and out-of-control pink tulle added Westwood's trademark rebellious touch to the show, culminating in Anderson twirling down the catwalk first in a tutu and then in a skin-tight T-shirt.

Backstage after the show on the elegant Place Vendome a few steps away from the French justice ministry, orange-haired Westwood shared a few tips for dispelling the economic gloom as the Paris womenswear shows got into full swing.

"Buy less, choose well, mix it all. Wear your shirt back to front, that way you get two ways of wearing your shirt," British designer Westwood told reporters.

Apart from the tulle extravaganza, she included a range of dresses and jackets that could easily be worn to the office, continuing the trend toward wearable, sellable pieces seen in New York and Milan.

Asymmetric wrap dresses and tunics in sea green and greyish blue, a black pinstripe dress and draped tops were meant to give shoppers the option to buy one special piece and combine it with whatever they had in their wardrobe.

"I still sell a lot of stuff, it doesn't seem to affect me," Westwood said about the downturn that has hit retailers from highstreet labels to luxury brands.

CLIMATE CHANGE

She then said she wanted to "hijack" her fashion show to talk about climate change, describing it a much greater threat than economic meltdown.

"We're in a terrible state. We need to save the human race," she added with a sigh.

With her roots in punk rock, Westwood is known for injecting political messages into her shows. But even at Christian Dior, not normally known to display social concerns, the crisis was making an impact.

While Dior challenged the recession only a few weeks ago with a dazzling haute couture show full of Marie Antoinette ballgowns, the autumn/winter collection tried to strike a balance between dreamy creativity and sober clothes that sell.

After the show, Chief Executive Sydney Toledano said he was worried about the social consequences of the downturn.

"We are here, super cool," he told reporters, gesturing to the champagne-sipping fashion crowd around him, "But we see the unemployment and all that."

Designer John Galliano looked to the East for inspiration, with fur-trimmed Genghis Khan hats and coats with fur cuffs, floaty canary yellow and cherry red dresses with silver or turquoise embellishments, and heavy jewelry.

But like other designers this season, he added several more practical outfits. Puffball skirt suits, jackets with balloon sleeves and matching skirts came in a color that matched the wider mood: grey.

Her recent past two hospitalizations were so she could be treated for a collapsed lung.

What will Lil' Kim do for DWTS and how will the audience react? When it was announced that Kim Kardashian would appear on last season's Dancing with the Stars many wondered just how wild the dance floor would be with the sex tape veteran and Playboy centerfold.  But Kim did fine, though she was eliminated early.  Now what about Li' Kim, will she bring some wild times to the ABC reality TV show and how long will the viewers keep her on the show?

This is an incredibly weak Dancing lineup at first glance, but as the show develops, it might change.  Last season, Brooke Burke stunned almost everyone with her incredible talent as she stepped up and delivered week after week with incredible performances.

Denise Richards will bring her drama as well along with  Belinda Carlyle and country singer and Nashville Star judge Jewel.  Her husband, rodeo champion Ty Murray will also be on stage and the two will at least have a family fight for bragging rights.
The Associated press also adds another hubby and wife as country singer Chuck Wicks will take the floor with his girlfriend, two-time DWTS champion Julianne Hough.

For Brooke Burke, three months of hard work competing for and then winning the TV series "Dancing with the Stars" has paid off.

The former model and TV personality said her victory in the popular TV show's seventh season with partner Derek Hough has put her back in the spotlight after a few years off having the second two of her four children.

Burke, 37, the former host of E!'s "Wild On" and CBS' "Rock Star," spoke to Reuters about juggling her family with her career -- and dancing:

Q: Had you danced much before "Dancing with the Stars?"

A: "I had never danced before, and now I miss it a little. I took a month off afterwards because I had a pulled hamstring and had a couple of other injuries, and so I just took some R&R over the holidays. It was a great way to wrap up the end of the year. I would like to continue dancing but not at that level. It was a tremendous commitment."

Q: Did you enjoy taking part in the show?

A: "Oh yes. It is such a phenomenon with 20 million viewers. It is a great way to become a household name. I took a few years off to have my last two babies and it put me back on the map. It also changed me as a person. It was very challenging. It was a terrifying experience but also very exciting, and it challenged every single part of me."

Q: What plans do you have now?

A: "I am working on a bunch of things -- an online business I set up and I am spending a lot of time working on a mommy site and online store that I run. But I am also working on a bunch of other things and hoping to get back on TV real soon. I am also working on a book deal which is about balancing motherhood and everything else. So I am really not sure what 2009 will be."

Q: How do you manage to juggle four kids and your career?

A: "It is tough. My family comes first. I always wanted to be a mom but I also love being a working woman. I found a way to put it in perspective and set my priorities. I have a great support system in place -- my family. As a mother, I think I have accomplished more than as a single woman."

Q: You've just appeared again on the AskMen.com annual list of most desirable women.

A: "I think it is a great compliment to be on the list at any age and to remain on the list. But I feel my life is getting better as I get older. I am accomplishing more things and having more fun and deeper friendships and relationships."

Q: How do you stay in such great shape?

A: "I have always had a healthy lifestyle. I have always had a healthy diet and enjoy working out, although I am not obsessed about it. The dancing took off any baby weight I had and then some."

Q: How do you keep the children grounded?

A: "It is hard. We live in Malibu and in a very ritzy place, surrounded by a lot of privileged people, but I try to raise them in the most natural way possible. I am honest with them which I think is important. I am raising them to be strong and opinionated."
