Forget social misfit: Lea Michele may actually be "Most Likely to Succeed" on Emmy night for her turn as Rachel Berry on Fox's musical comedy sensation "Glee."

Michele recently dished about shifting from Broadway to television comedienne, her inner Gleek and fantasies about Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears.

BEFORE "GLEE," YOU WERE A FIXTURE ON BROADWAY. DID YOU EVER THINK YOU WOULD MAKE THE SHIFT TO A TELEVISION COMEDY SERIES?

Michele: I never thought I would be a comedic actor. In all of my shows on Broadway I played the most gut-wrenching, depressing roles. But I did watch a lot of "Saturday Night Live" as a kid. I would pretend I was Gilda Radner and re-enact "Roseanne Roseannadanna." Growing up, my mother would say that I was the daughter of Jim Carrey and Natalie Wood. I had this serious maturity about me, but had this insanely kooky side, too.

DESCRIBE RACHEL BERRY IN YOUR OWN WORDS AND HOW SHE'S DEVELOPED OVER THE SEASON.

Michele: Rachel was me when I was younger and working in musical theater. I was very determined and I did a great show every single night. I never missed a performance. Since then, I've mellowed out, but there is a part of me that's very Rachel Berry. She is so different now than when we started. Initially, she was very "Pretty in Pink": making her own clothes, and wearing tons of necklaces with big theatrical makeup. We were figuring out who she was and we realized her personality was enough. She didn't need the gloves and pearls.

MATTHEW MORRISON EXPRESSED CONCERN ABOUT HOW THE SERIES WILL ADAPT, AS THE STUDENTS GET OLDER. HOW DO YOU THINK THE SHOW WILL HANDLE IT?

Michele: There is definitely a way to drag it on. We've been working on the show for two years and we're just finishing Season 1! I don't think Ryan Murphy would ever keep it going if it didn't have life. I'm not going to be able to play a high school student forever and Cory (Monteith, who plays Finn) is like 50 years old, but there are so many unknown talented kids people could relate to.

"GLEE" IS SCHEDULED TO AIR IN THE COVETED POST-SUPER BOWL TIME SLOT. WHOSE MUSIC ARE YOU HOPING THE EPISODE WILL CELEBRATE?

Michele: I think they are saving Justin Timberlake for the Super Bowl episode. They have to be, because he is so perfect for our show. He has to be on it! When I met Jessica Biel, like a loser, I asked her to tell Justin to come on our show! She was a little taken aback and said, "Um, OK. I'll tell him." If not Justin, I would hope it would be the sequel to the Madonna episode. She has so many more amazing songs we didn't even touch.

IT WAS CONFIRMED THIS WEEK THAT BRITNEY SPEARS WILL BE ON THE SHOW. DO YOU HAVE ANY INSIDER DETAILS TO SHARE?

Michele: The Britney episode is going to be even bigger than Lady Gaga. Ryan is directing it and any episode that he directs, fans will love. The Britney episode is really Heather Morris' episode, who plays Brittany. Heather and Naya (Rivera, who plays Santana) will be doing a lot more this season and Harry Shum, who plays Mike Chang, is going to have a bigger part, too.

WHAT SONG DO YOU HOPE "GLEE" NEVER ATTEMPTS TO RE-CREATE?

Michele: If I say what I don't want to do, Ryan will make sure I do it! My problem is that songs get stuck in my head. By the time we finish, it could take us 50 takes to get one song on film. I recently did another Gaga song -- I can't say which one -- and it's a hard song to sing because it's really fast. It was literally stuck in my head for days! I probably wouldn't want to sing anything I liked when I was 12 years old -- like the Spice Girls or Hanson. Although, "MMMBop" will probably pop up at some point in a bad '90s episode.

Britney Spears is the latest mega pop star to be getting a "Glee"-full makeover.. but what songs will they use?

"We are writing a Britney Spears episode," Ryan Murphy, creator of the hit musical comedy TV show, told celebrity news show Entertainment Tonight.

It was not clear whether Spears, 28, the biggest pop music phenomenon of the early 2000s with hits like "Oops!...I Did It Again" and "Piece of Me", would also appear in the episode planned for the new season which starts in the fall.

"Glee" won 19 Emmy nominations on last week, based two episodes earlier this year on the music of Madonna and Lady Gaga, but neither of the singers appeared on the show.

The show about a struggling high school show choir that sings cover versions of pop, Broadway and hip-hop tunes, "Glee" was one of the most-talked about TV programs of the last year.

It produced three hit albums of music while also sending sales soaring for the original artists whose music is featured, and its young stars recently completed a U.S. concert tour.

Producers however have denied reports that Spanish movie star Javier Bardem, who won an Oscar in 2008 for his role in "No Country for Old Men", would appear as a guest in the new season.

"No, javierbardemjenniferanistonjuliarobertsbradpittelvis katieholmestomcruiseandu2 are not appearing in season 2. But wouldn't it be fun...." Dante Di Loreto, an executive producer for "Glee", said in a Twitter message earlier this month.

Mel Gibson has reportedly been given the support of Britney Spears. The 54-year-old actor - who is the subject of domestic violence allegations from ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva - has been receiving regular phone calls from the 'Womanizer' singer after he previously helped her out following her much-publicized breakdown in 2008.

A source told In Touch Weekly magazine: "Mel has been talking to her a lot. They speak on the phone all the time, usually late at night.
"Mel was one of the only people who reached out to help Britney when she was at her lowest point, and she believes that demonstrates what a loving and wonderful man he is.
"She wants people to give him a second chance - just like he gave her one when everyone else turned away."
Speaking about lending 28-year-old Britney support, Mel admitted he wanted to help her because he felt no one else wanted to step in.
He said at the time: "She's a nice kid. She was just going through a rough patch. You see kids that you know in the industry. I just felt like this poor kid she's lining up to be stoned. I just thought, 'I wonder if anyone is reaching out to her', so I just called her and she's doing great now."
Mel received a visit from child protection services in Los Angeles July 21 following allegations from Russian singer Oksana he had hit her and their eight-month-old daughter Lucia.

Remember Hollywood's Odd Couple of Britney Spears and Mel Gibson? They're back! Instead of Britney shaving her head and being placed on 5150 lock down, it is now Mel that has found trouble and Gibson's unlikely ally in his bitter legal battle with former girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva is troubled pop star Britney Spears, reports In Touch.

The "Toxic" singer, 28, has been telling pals that Mel, 54, has been pouring his heart out to her — confiding that he fears for his sanity and is convinced he's destroyed his once-hot career.
"Mel has been talking to her a lot," a friend of the singer's tells In Touch. "They speak on the phone all the time, usually late at night."

The report adds: "Britney's may seem like an unlikely shoulder for the Braveheart star to cry on, but the pop star's pal says she is simply returning the favor to the actor, who went out of his way to help her when she went through her own breakdown."
"Mel was one of the only people who reached out to help Britney when she was at her lowest point, and she believes that demonstrates what a loving and wonderful man he is," says the friend, according to ITW.
"She wants people to give him a second chance — just like he gave her one when everyone else turned away."

Britney Spears is reportedly planning to marry Jason Trawick in the next 12 months. The 28-year-old singer confirmed she was dating her former agent in May, after months of speculation. Britney is even said to be planning to have children with Jason because she wants Sean Preston, four, and three-year-old Jayden James, to have another sibling.
“Britney’s ready to be serious with Jason,” a pal told British magazine More! “He wants to take care of her. They are both 100 per cent on board for making their romance work. “Some of their circle reckon there could soon be wedding bells and Britney would love another sibling for her two boys.”

Britney Spears' former bodyguard Fernando Flores is making more accusations, this time he claims Britney abused her kids.  The singer - who has two sons, Sean Preston, four, and three-year-old Jayden James, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline even has been accused by her former bodyguard Fernando Flores of being an unfit mother.

Earlier claims from the former bodyguard were that he reportedly had to quit after claiming the star sexually harassed him.
Fernando Flores, 29, is a former policeman and earlier reports said he quit his job after a number of incidents surrounding the Womanizer star.

See the new accusations by the bodyguard from the Sun.
Earlier a friend told UK newspaper The Sun Britney was hard to work with: "She was always giving him the come on and he felt if he didn't reciprocate he could lose his job. He finally handed in his notice last week and is considering legal action."
The pal added: "Working for Britney is tough. She's a nightmare to deal with and her emotions are totally out of control. She runs round the house naked and yelling at staff.

"All her guards knew they could be removed if they looked at her the wrong way. Unfortunately for Fernando, she took a liking to him, so he was under more pressure than most.
"He wanted to be a good security guard and look after her, but the situation became unbearable."

Britney Spears' Ex-Manager, Mom Escalate Legal Feud

Did he manipulate, drug and cut off his client from the real world? Was she really the problem, and did she make all this stuff up?

We're, of course, talking about "Britneygate" -- the entertaining dispute between Britney Spears' ex-manager and Britney Spears' mother that's now landed on the doorstep of a California appeals court.

In 2008, ex-manager Sam Lutfi filed a defamation lawsuit against Lynne Spears for things she wrote about him in her memoir, "Through the Storm."

Last August, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge refused to dismiss the case. A few weeks ago, Lynne Spears appealed that decision, and on Monday, Lutfi filed papers, presenting his argument why the case should continue.

Now the Court of Appeal of the State of California gets to hear "Britneygate" and the two widely different tales of who is responsible for the singer's collapse.

Lynne Spears claims that Lufti was a master manipulator who secretly drugged her daughter, cut off her communications and mobility, and set himself up as "gatekeeper" before he was fired.

In contrast, Lutfi says Britney's life was already in turmoil before he got involved. His proof: Two failed marriages, losing custody of her child, shaving her head, a reckless driving arrest, drug rehab, etc.

That aspect of the case is really a sideshow, though, to the interesting legal questions.

In pressing her appeal, Lynne argues that Lutfi's reputation was so low at the time the book was published, he's "libel-proof" as his reputation couldn't possibly be damaged further.

Au contraire, says Lutfi's lawyer.

In his brief to the appeals court, Lutfi points out he's never been convicted of anything and if his reputation was so badly injured based on a series of tabloid articles, it's a decision that can only be made by a jury. In addition, he points to the case of Howard K. Stern, who sued for defamation after being accused of having a hand in Anna Nicole Smith's death. A judge ruled in that case that just because Stern might have been falsely accused doesn't mean he could not be further injured from false accusations again.

The entire brief is pretty entertaining. For instance, there's a discussion about whether accusing someone of being "evil," a "predator," a "fake" and a "shifty man" are "opinions" or descriptive of "acts of misconduct" that are actionable as libel. There's also an argument submitted by Lutfi that Lynne Spears is engaging in bigotry because of his ethnicity.
