Canadian actress Emmanuelle Chriqui has topped an annual poll of the world's 99 most desirable women, with organizers saying her appeal was boosted by the fact that she does not feature heavily in celebrity magazines.

The 32-year-old actress, best known for the TV series "Entourage," was on Tuesday named by men's website AskMen.com as the woman with the qualities most men would want in a girlfriend or wife, taking the title from last year's winner Eva Mendes.

Previous winners of the annual list of the world's "Top 99 Most Desirable Women," now in its 10th year, include Katherine Heigl, Beyonce, Jessica Alba and Adriana Lima.

"Hearing what the vote is made of is the biggest compliment of all because it's about being a well-rounded woman. That's really empowering and is just a massive compliment to me," Chriqui said in a statement after coming 12th last year.

In second place in the 2010 poll, which involved about 8 million votes, was American model Marisa Miller and in the third slot was British actress Kate Beckinsale.

AskMen.com's editor-in-chief James Bassil said Chriqui's role in "Entourage" as a sweet, ideal girlfriend had helped her in the survey -- but so had the fact that she is not over exposed.

"We don't see a lot of her. She is not a very public person so it leaves some room to the imagination. She is not out there making a spectacle of herself which could sully her image," he told Reuters.

"A lot of the behavior we see in the media is not the kind of behavior that you want to see in a girlfriend or wife. You can get over-saturation and we don't want to see their real and sometimes stained and depressed sides of their lives."

Chriqui has appeared in a list of films including "Don't Mess With The Zohan," and TV series "The O.C." and "Entourage."

Celebrities like Paris Hilton and Britney Spears who appear regularly in the media did not feature at all in the 2010 list. Spears reappeared on the list in 2009 after a few years' absence but was out of favor again in 2010.

"It has to do with a lack of mystery and enigma," said Bassil.

He said it was interesting to note that Megan Fox has fallen from second place to No. 11 in 2010 after a year of heavy publicity for the American actress.

"She has become very much the type we see everywhere, getting a lot of publicity but with not a lot of success driving this. Sure, she's had massive roles in massive movies but they are few and far between compared to many others," he said.

Newcomers to the list for 2010 included Italian model/actress Elisabetta Canalis, 31, debuted at No. 43, which Bassil put down to the fact that she is dating Hollywood idol George Clooney.

He said it was interesting that French actress Marion Cotillard came in at No. 54 as the movie "Nine" has not been that successful in North America.

The list by AskMen.com, a unit of News Corp's Fox Interactive Media, had the perennial favorites like Jessica Alba at No.5 followed by Beyonce in sixth place and Angelina Jolie at No. 88.

"All the top women we see in this list are pretty well behaved and respectable women. We don't see a lot of them parading around in public unless it is in the framework of their careers," said Bassil.

George Clooney's model girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis (pictured) has a steamy new underwear ad and she has just become the lingerie girl for Roberto Cavalli.  The 31-year-old Italian stars in the world-renowned designer's new advertising campaign for his Spring 2010 underwear collection.

Roberto Cavalli told Glamour: "For my next underwear collection I was inspired by a real woman, with appeal, charisma and sensuality. Elisabetta Canalis and I have been friends for a while now, we have already worked together in the past and so I was sure she was just perfect for enhancing the spirit of this advertising campaign… and I was not wrong! Her Mediterranean beauty and intense appeal interpret an intriguing super-feminine woman…the result is amazing!"

More on the couple...Clooney's blissful vacation with Elisabetta Canalis has whipped up rumors the pair will settle down. Clooney has toted the Italian TV presenter to all of his recent movie premieres at top festivals and spent solid time with her and his best friends Cindy Crawford and husband Rande Gerber. The foursome got together in Cabo San Lucas over the holiday break.

She’s always up for a charitable cause, and Bar Refaeli was in the house for the 2009 Angel Ball last night (October 20) in New York City.

The Israeli-born supermodel showed off her sexy style as she made her way inside Cipriani Wall Street, sporting a black cleavage-baring minidress with black peep-toe heels.

The Angel Ball benefitted Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research, funding basic and clinical medical research and focusing on prevention, treatment, and quality of life issues.

The day before (October 19) Bar was out in the SoHo district of NYC with two mystery males, grabbing lunch at the Lure Fishbar Seafood restaurant.

Venturing out for a relaxing midday outing, Bar Refaeli was spotted hitting up the shops in SoHo, New York City on Thursday afternoon (September 17).

Joined by a guy pal, the sexy supermodel browsed the racks at the local Intermix boutique before leaving the store with a bagful of goodies.

As of late, Miss Refaeli has been taking in the offerings of Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week, also causing a stir after being spotted cozying up to "Gossip Girl" hunk Chace Crawford.

According to a source, Bar and Chace were spotted getting pretty friendly at 1Oak nightclub. “At one point, Bar reached down and grabbed Chace’s backside. They were very affectionate with each other. Bar and Chace have been spending a lot of time together since Bar is town and attending New York Fashion Week events.”

Making the most of a beautiful day in the Big Apple, Bar Refaeli was spotted sauntering around Manhattan yesterday afternoon (September 15).

The Israeli-born supermodel looked lovely as she made her way through the Meatpacking District, located on the Lower West Side.

And of course, Miss Refaeli was sporting her fashion A-game in a white-with-black-accents summer dress with black heels and black sunglasses.

Bar has been in town as of late for Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week where the who’s who of the fashion industry has been hobnobbing around Bryant Park.

Meanwhile, Miss Refaeli recently chatted with press about keeping such a fabulous figure telling, “I don’t diet and I don’t have an eating plan, but I like to eat healthily. I don’t deny myself anything and there’s nothing I wouldn’t eat. I like desserts — I like food full-stop but I exercise and I’m young, so everything keeps in check."

The catwalk cutie adds, “I guess every girl has days where she feels good and days where she feels she could lose a couple of pounds and it’s the same for me. I’m generally in pretty good shape, but if I have a major shoot or fashion show coming up and I want to look my best, then I’ll spend a little extra time working out or I will stick to eating salads and chicken for a few days. I would never go on some crazy fad diet or eat anything weird to get thinner – it’s just not good for your body.”

Seemingly blessed with good genes, Bar Refaeli is one lucky woman - as she doesn’t diet.

The Israeli supermodel says she can eat whatever she please and only has to exercise to maintain her sexy physique.

Bar Refaeli, 24, has followed in the footsteps of supermodel Gisele Bundchen, 29, (without star quarterback Tom Brady, of course) appearing in a campaign for Rampage. The curvy Refaeli appears in sizzling hot lingerie in new promotions for Rampage.  The Israeli was known as the "New Gisele" when she arrived on the modeling scene.

She took up with actor Leonardo DiCaprio after his split with Bundchen, in 2005, and was recruited in 2007 by Victoria's Secret, also a Rampage campaign.

Refaeli said: "The Rampage line is comfortable and the cuts are very feminine. It always fits perfectly to the curves of a woman's body - I have curves and I feel really good in it!"
Dari Marder, chief marketing officer with Rampage, said, "We were looking for a fresh new face to follow our spring campaign with Gisele Bundchen and when we met Bar we instantly fell in love with her. Bar is sweet, young, sexy and beautiful just like our Rampage customer." Refaeli and DiCaprio recently broke up. A source said, "She wanted to move faster than he did. She wanted to move in together, so he broke it off."

Looking to blow off some steam and have some fun, Avril Lavigne was spotted partying at the VIP Room nightclub in Saint Tropez, France last night (July 22).

The “Sk8er Boi” songstress looked to be having a marvelous time as she laughed and chatted with fellow clubgoers. Also in the house was Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli.

Earlier this week, Avril showed the world that she and husband Deryck Whibley are still very much going strong in their marriage.

On Monday night, they hit up Madeo restaurant in West Hollywood for some delicious Italian eats, doing their best to avoid the paparazzi as they made their way to the car.
