Ashley Greene had a "mini-breakdown" over the scrutiny her wardrobe received.

The 22-year-old actress admits she still feels uneasy that fans of the 'Twilight Saga' - in which she plays Alice Cullen - view her as a role model but refuses to put on an act to please other people.

She said: "There was a moment in time where I was kind of having this mini-breakdown because it was all very new, and it was all being thrown at me really quickly, and I was going, 'Why are people reporting on this? Why do people care what I'm wearing or what I'm eating, and why are people looking down on me because I'm not wearing high heels?' That's the downside to being in the public eye.

"When girls come up and say, 'You're my role model,' it's really flattering, but it's also really scary because I'm not perfect and I'm going to make mistakes. I've just decided that I have to continue to live my life and do what I do. Hopefully, people love me because of who I am, not who I pretend to be."

The actress was working as a waitress when she landed the role and is still amazed at how quickly her life changed because she hasn't yet had time to reflect on her success.

She explained to Interview magazine: "It's a really hard thing to wrap your head around. I was working at a restaurant, I booked the role in 'Twilight', put in my two weeks' notice, got fitted, flew to Portland, filmed, and then it started getting hype. That helped me get my foot into certain doors before the movie even came out.

Ashley Greene is delighted she got to star in the 'Twilight' films - because they have opened up other roles for her.

The 22-year-old actress, who plays vampire Alice Cullen in the movies, is grateful for the opportunity because people are now interested in her talents.

She said: "Instantly, we have this fan base, instantly, we have these careers and people know who we are. People now actually care about what project I'm in."

Although she is happy with the attention she has gained from her performances in the movie series, Ashley admits some of the films' hardcore fans can be tough to deal with.

She added in an interview with the USA Today newspaper: "I've been asked by people to get a lock of Rob's hair. I've even had girls come up to me and ask to smell my hair.

Rob Pattinson is in dough and co-star Ashley Greene tried an odd cheerleader costume for her favorite college football team.  First Pattinson's sweet tooth, a New Jersey bakery is offering Twilight fans the chance to snap up cupcakes with the faces of characters such as Robert Pattinson. The Sweet Avenue Bakery is offering up $4 chocolate and vanilla cupcakes that feature the likeness of its stars such as Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner as well as Team Emmett, Jasper or Carlisle.

The cupcakes have been on sale since last month and the bakery also specializes in gluten-free and vegan cupcakes that don't contain eggs or dairy products. The second movie in the Twilight Saga, New Moon, was released last month and it has broken box-office records.

Back to Ashley, the Twilight starlet dressed up her dog in a cheerleader costume to support her favorite football team on ABC television. The New Moon actress put the pooch in the Florida Gators outfit when she took it along to Jimmy Kimmel Live. She also shared a snap of the dog – who was not named on the show - in a party hat as it celebrated its birthday.
The Gators would later lose to Alabama in the game that featured the two top teams in the country battling head to head.  Ashley told Kimmel: “It was her birthday yesterday. I got her a little cupcake. “She chowed down on it and then she passed out.” She told a laughing Kimmel, fellow guest Jake Gyllenhaal and the studio audience: “She has a very good life, I will have you people know.”

The 'Twilight Saga: New Moon' actress is a huge fan of martial arts and says it makes her feel empowered when she practices her skills on men.

She said: "I think part of it is that it's really empowering and part of it is because it's fun. It's incredible to see what your body can do and what you're capable of and not needing a weapon to defend yourself is a really great thing.

"It puts my dad at ease and gives him a little piece of mind. I started doing martial arts when I was really young and I ended up sparring with boys instead of girls because I was that into it and I didn't want to beat up the girls. It's a fun thing and I've always been really athletic."

Ashley, 22, is planning on increasing her martial arts training after being put through her paces by the trainers on the third instalment of the vampire franchise 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse'.

New Moon star Ashley Greene said she didn't eat a lot to get in shape for the new movie. Greene, 22, plays the role of Alice Cullen in the hit Twilight saga and admitted that healthy food was the key to a slim figure.

She said to Usmagazine.com: "It was really easy. We were working 12 hours a day, so it didn't leave too much time to eat." She added that when she did eat she chose to consume 'really healthy stuff, which was nice'. Greene added: "We had a personal trainer and then we also had fight training. It was a good four hours a day of training."

The vampire star now stays in shape by doing Pilates six times a week. She said: "I do it early in the morning. It wakes you up, and it's kind of refreshing."
"And that is basically it. Sometimes cardio. I am not a big weight person because when I do weights I build muscle mass."

Ashley Greene's dog has become more famous than many Hollywood stars.

The 'Twilight Saga: New Moon' actress can't open a magazine without seeing photos of her pooch Marlow inside and believes it must be "mind-boggling" for fellow actors to understand why the white toy fox terrier has such a high profile.

She said: "It's crazy, right? I think my dog is more famous than a lot of stars out there. I bet some people in Hollywood are like, 'I can't get my picture in a magazine, but Ashley's pooch does?' It's mind-boggling."

The 22-year-old actress - who plays vampire Alice in the hit movie franchise - also admitted she only felt nervous after landing the role when she realised how much attention the films were attracting.

She told America's Maxim magazine: "Oh, my God, I wanted this part so badly! I worked my butt off for it because I absolutely love Alice, my character.

"She's sweet, sexy, and a killer! So when they told me I got it, I tried to play it all cool, you know, for about a minute.

"Suddenly the 'Twilight' blogs started picking it up, and then fans were there taking photos, and I'm on the news, and I was like, 'What?' And then I got really nervous."

However, the brunette has no plans to go for more low-key roles in future and has set her sights on appearing in a James Bond movie.

Keeping her Friday night open for some pampering, Ashley Greene was spotted leaving a nail salon in Vancouver, Canada last night (October 16).

Fresh from her pedicure, the “Twilight” star looked comfy in sweatpants and a sweatshirt, and was careful not to smudge her new red toe nails.

In other news, it is being reported that Ms Greene and co-star, Kellan Lutz, are set to host a Halloween bash in Las Vegas on October 31.

Ashley recently revealed that she will be showing up to the fete as a bird. She told press, “I think I'm going to add some feathers to it to make it a little less 'Halloween Sexy Bird.' It's going to be really fun."

Showing off her svelte figure, Ashley Greene looked stunning as she struck a few poses for the latest issue of Men's Fitness magazine.

The "Twilight" actress donned a few skimpy outfits for the photo session, which is bound to help out sales for the popular workout-based publication.

During her interview for the issue, Miss Greene talked about what she dislikes about men, saying, “I hate jealous guys! Everyone can be jealous. We all have that in us. Push the demon down or it’s going to drive the other person away.”

As for her thoughts on relationships, Ashley tells, “Don’t throw petals on the floor if they have no meaning. I would rather have a fun, casual relationship than have someone pretending they’re completely in love with me.”

Kicking off a new week, Ashley Greene was spotted out and about in Los Angeles getting ready to do some errands yesterday morning (October 12).

The “Twilight” babe donned a black tank top and an orange pair of Florida Gators sweatpants as she left her SoCal home and hopped into her car.

Ashley grabbed a pick-me-up cup of coffee and some oatmeal at a nearby Starbucks before heading off to a friend’s house for a visit.

And coming up on Halloween, Miss Greene and costar Kellan Lutz will be hosting a monster bash at the Venetian Hotel’s clubs TAO and LAVO in Las Vegas.

Enjoying some downtime from her usually busy schedule, Ashley Greene was spotted out and about in Los Angeles yesterday afternoon (October 11).

Joined by a gal pal, the “Twilight” babe stopped off for some frozen yogurt before heading over to a nearby Bed Bath and Beyond store to pick up a few items.

In related news, Ashley and costar Kellan Lutz will be hosting a Halloween Bash at the Venetian Hotel’s TAO and LAVO nightclubs in Las Vegas on October 31st.

The “New Moon” hotties were spotted taking in a Jason Mraz concert in Vancouver, Canada earlier this month while on break from shooting “Eclipse.”
