The 'Alice in Wonderland' actress - who already has a much-loved chocolate Labrador called Esmeralda - went to Molly's Mutts and Meows volunteer animal rescue centre in West Hollywood on Saturday (13.03.10) with her partner Adam Schulman where they were seen looking at a number of mutts, including a medium-sized terrier mix named Chuck.

A source revealed: "She said she had one dog and was looking to adopt a second one. Most of the conversation was about Chuck, and whether he's good with other dogs, house-trained, mellow, things like that."

The 27-year-old star - who has been dating Adam since November 2008 - took down information regarding the purchase of Chuck before leaving, and seemed keen on giving the pooch a home.

Lucky Actress Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway doesn't think she deserves her success.

The 27-year-old actress believes she has been fortunate to land so many big roles, but admits she has often found herself out of her depth when working with big Hollywood names.

She said: "I owe so much of my career to luck. My mother always told me that luck is preparation meets opportunity and I've been given extraordinary opportunities to work with filmmakers long before I was talented enough and deserved to work with them. I've learned a lot from them. I just keep getting hired. I consider myself lucky and I don't know who is responsible for it."

Anne's latest role is as the White Queen in Tim Burton's 'Alice in Wonderland' and she admits 'living' in the fantastical world appealed to her.

She said: "I'd be happy to live in a world with no rules and where people are curious."

While she is one of the world's highest-grossing actresses, Anne recently admitted she doesn't have much confidence when it comes to "full-on movie kissing".

Hollywood beauty Anne Hathaway says she wants to kiss on-screen the way Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Garner do so well. The 27-year-old star – who will next be seen in the romantic comedy Valentine’s Day – says that unlike Jolie "full-on movie kissing" is not one of her talents.

Hathaway said: "It's a totally different experience but really you have to be Angelina Jolie to pull that off and still look good. I don't know if you've noticed, but I ain't no Angie." The actress admits to practising her smooching skills with the old-school trick of using the back of her hand.

"You have to leave your mouth open a little bit," she said. "Open up … more, more, ever so lightly… Otherwise you're going to be getting smoothy. Now, slow it down … just a little bit." Hathaway has been dating actor Adam Shulman since 2008 and admits she finds her on-set lip-locks uncomfortable.
"If you're both unattached and you get along, of course kissing in a movie is fun," she said. "But you can never get truly deep down and into it. Well, I can't. Jennifer Garner - now that girl can movie kiss!"

Anne Hathaway was flanked by men in drag as she received her Hasty Pudding Woman of the Year Award from Harvard University yesterday (28.01.10).

The 'Devil Wears Prada' actress braved the rain as she rode through a parade in her honour in the back of a convertible red car and clutching a giant bouquet of flowers.

She was then brought on stage at Harvard's New College theatre for a ceremonial roast from the prestigious American university's Hasty Pudding Theatrical group - America's oldest undergraduate drama club - where they playfully mocked her.

But the 27-year-old beauty was happy to play along and showed off her wrestling skills, sword-wielding and singing abilities.

Anne finished the ceremony with an acceptance speech composed in rhymed couplets, which included: "I feel warm and gooey inside/My rump is swollen with pride."

Keira Knightley will not star in the new film version of 'My Fair Lady'.

The 24-year-old actress was hotly tipped to be taking on the role of Eliza Doolittle, made famous by Audrey Hepburn in the original musical movie, in the adaptation of the classic rags-to-riches tale.

Keira met with producers Cameron Mackintosh and Duncan Kenworthy to discuss the part and even took singing lessons in preparation, but eventually decided it wasn't for her.

Daily Mail columnist Baz Bamigboye reports: "Keira was never officially offered the part and she is believed to have felt the project was taking too long to get off the ground."

Now Keira has ruled herself out for the role, British starlet Carey Mulligan - who is up for the Best Actress award at this weekend's Golden Globes for her performance in the film 'An Education' - is rumoured to be in the running.

Several other actresses have been linked to the project, including Scarlett Johansson and Anne Hathaway, but it is believed bosses want a British star to play the London flower girl who becomes a lady after meeting and falling in love with Professor Henry Higgins.

Although Keira will not appear in 'My Fair Lady', she has signed up for a new big screen project.

The brunette beauty will star alongside Michael Fassbender and Christoph Waltz in David Cronenberg's 'The Talking Cure'.

Anne Hathaway Flies Down To Rio

Following the behemoth of Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs ($880m in receipts and counting), the next 3D digital animation from Fox is set to be Rio. Anne Hathaway and Neil Patrick Harris are in negotiations for voice duties, and the director will once again be Carlos Saldanha.

The story is not about Hathaway dancing on the sand, just like a river twisting through a dusty land, but a "nerdy mccaw" who escapes from his cage in Minnesota and heads south for some fun in the sun. Rodrigo Santoro (Xerxes in 300) is also in talks for a role.

Harris, who also provided a voice for Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, is doing rather well for himself lately, what with his ongoing series How I Met Your Mother, the Harold and Kumar appearances, and the awesome Doctor Horrible's Singalong Blog. It would almost be possible to forget that he was once Doogie Howser MD, except that people keep mentioning it.

Rio is aiming for an April 2011 release. We'll bring you more on who's playing what as we get it.

Naomi Watts Tops List Of Actresses To Invest In

With cash-strapped studios looking for return on their investments, Forbes.com compiled a list of the 10 actresses who provide the best bang for their buck.

They found actresses who commanded the highest prices, like Angelina Jolie who topped Forbes' list of the best paid actresses after banking $27 million in a year, were outranked by those earning around $5 million and under for a film.

Watts, 41, topped the list after the analysis found she helped the box office make an estimated $44 for every $1 she was paid for her last three major films.

Jennifer Connelly, star of ""Blood Diamond" and "He's Just Not That Into You," came second with her films earning about $41 for each dollar she was paid and Rachel McAdams, of "The Notebook" and this year's "The Time Traveler's Wife," came third with $30 for every $1 earned.

Fourth was Natalie Portman of the new "Star Wars" movies and "The Other Boleyn Girl" with her films making $28 for every $1 she was paid followed by Meryl Streep who made the top five due to the massive box office success of last year's "Mamma Mia," earning $27 for every $1 paid.

Rounding out the 10 were Jennifer Aniston ($26 per $1) while films by Halle Berry, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, and Hilary Swank all made $23 for every dollar they earned.

Forbes.com said it compiled its list by looking at the 100 biggest stars in Hollywood. To qualify each actress had to have starred in at least three movies in the past five years that opened in more than 500 theatres.

They looked at the star's estimated earnings, each movie's estimated budget, and box office, DVD and television earnings to figure out an operating income for each movie.

Getting a bite to eat to kickstart the day, Anne Hathaway was spotted out at The Griddle Cafe in Hollywood on Friday morning (October 2).

Wearing a long green dress, the "Devil Wears Prada" actress looked unhappy to find paparazzi awaiting her exit as she headed to her car toting some boxed food.

Aside from her work in front of the cameras, Miss Hathaway is fresh off of being honored for her charity work during Variety and Lifetime's first annual Power of Women Luncheon.

Anne received the tribute for her work with Service Nation - a national campaign to increase service opportunities and elevate service as a core ideal and problem-solving strategy in American society.
