Anna Paquin was more excited about passing her driving test than being nominated for a Golden Globe award.

The 'True Blood' star - who is up for the Best Actress in a Television Drama honour - admits she's thrilled to be acknowledged for her work but is happier that she now has the freedom to drive herself about.

She said: "I'm oddly more excited about the driver's licence. I'm totally the two-handed driver, and I'm not very good at parallel parking."

The awards take place on Sunday (17.01.10) but Anna admits she doesn't get too excited about attending glittering ceremonies.

Anna - who won the same award at last year's show and was also the recipient of the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress when she was just 11 - said: "It's probably not any different than any other day."

Stephen Moyer has sent his dogs to boot camp.

The 'True Blood' actor and fiancee Anna Paquin were forced to take action to teach Splash and Banjo to behave properly after receiving angry messages from their neighbours.

Stephen said: "Right now, Splash is in Los Angeles in boot camp with my new dog Banjo. They don't really get on.

"Splash is a grumpy old f**ker. Banjo has been doing what all puppies do, p**sing and s**ting everywhere, eating everything that comes to his realm, including Anna's shoes.

"We had a nasty letter from a few neighbours saying, 'Please, please can you stop them from barking or we're going to have to call the police. We say this with love, but please.' "

Before embarking on an acting career, Stephen had ambitions to become a boxer and says his role in the US drama has helped him pursue the sport further.

Katie Holmes has replaced Liv Tyler as the lead in the indie rom-com, The Romantics.

Holmes will play Laura, the maid of honour at the wedding of her best friend, Lila (Anna Paquin). Only problem is, Laura has got previous with the groom (Josh Duhamel).

Malin Akerman, Elijah Wood, Jeremy Strong and Adam Brody complete an impressive cast of bright young things. Galt Neiderhoffer will direct, having adapted the screenplay from her own novel.

Holmes’ arrival on the movie, which starts filming this week in New York, is a further signal that her film career is go again, following her leading role in the Guillermo del Toro-produced horror, Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark. Both that, and The Romantics, should come out next year.

Anna Paquin admits audiences find it "weird" when she gets nude on screen.

The former child actress - who won an Oscar aged 11 for her part in 'The Piano' - doesn't mind baring all for scenes in her steamy US drama series 'True Blood' but understands it is difficult for people to stop thinking of her as a "sweet" young star.

She said: "It's been a gradual evolution for me. It's probably weird for people to watch it and if they have this image of me as a sweet little child, but it's not weird for me.

"My wardrobe is awesome. I'm practically naked the entire time - what's not to love?"

New Zealand-born Anna - who is dating her co-star, Stephen Moyer, who plays vampire Bill Compton in the show - also explained that casting good looking actors in the show was essential to explain the allure which vampires have.

Enjoying a relaxing day off from work duties, Anna Paquin was spotted making her way around Venice, California on Monday afternoon (October 19).

The "True Blood" actress looked cute as she headed off to her car after having lunch with a friend at Hal's Bar and Grill.

The afternoon lunch outing follows a busy weekend for Miss Paquin, as she was among the stars on-hand for the Spike TV 2009 Scream Awards.

Among the winners, Anna collected the Best Horror Actor Female trophy while fiance Stephen Moyer won the Best Horror Actor Male award.

Meanwhile, “True Blood” snatched up the Best TV Show Award, along with best villain for Alexander Skarsgard to give the hit HBO series four wins at the annual Hollywood fete.

Looking ahead to the future, Anna Paquin's fiancé Stephen Moyer is longing for some “vampire babies” with her.

The couple, who star in “True Blood” together, announced that they were in engaged in August and are ready to settle down and have a family.

“What’s in store in the future for Anna and I? Well, we’re going to have little vampire babies,” Moyer explained.

“From the moment I met Anna we got on really well. There was an immediate sense of play, we starting working well together. She’s a superb actress. After the pilot I went back to London, she went to New York but we missed each other.”

And from there on, the vampires were in love. “It seems really organic and natural, it feels like the most normal thing in the world.”

Though kiddies seem inevitable, 27-year-old Anna says that she is not currently pregnant, telling, “My uterus is really flattered that everyone cares. But sorry, no occupants.”

Meanwhile, 39 year-old Moyer from Essex, England has two children of his own from a previous relationship.

Vowing to keep things simple when it comes to tying the knot, Anna Paquin has made it clear that she won’t turn into a “Bridezilla” as her nuptials approach.

“It feels organic,” the "True Blood" beauty tells. “It’s more about being family that becoming Bridezilla overnight and wearing some big meringue wedding dress. That would scare the s**t out of me. I wasn’t the girl who spent hours dreaming of my wedding.”

Continuing to dish details, Miss Paquin reveals, “We’re not planning the wedding yet. I’m not really that girl, we’re not really that couple."

As for the well-being of her relationship with Stephen Moyer, Anna says, “We’re happy and things are good and we’re not on any particular schedule and it’ll happen when we have time.”

Taking advantage of the lovely weekend weather, Anna Paquin was spotted out window shopping in Venice, California on Saturday afternoon (September 26).

Joined by a gal pal, the "True Blood" beauty strolled the streets as her fiance, Stephen Moyer, was out cycling with his daughter and friends in the same neighborhood.

Meanwhile, Stephen recently offered up a few tidbits about the pair's upcoming wedding, saying, “Splash, my [10 year-old border collie] alpha, will be the ringbearer. My son [Billy] might be unhappy about that.”

He adds, “We haven’t planned anything. People say, ‘You are engaged to be married,’ and I’m like, ‘Really? I thought we were just engaged.’”

Attempting to beat the current Los Angeles heat wave, Anna Paquin was spotted hitting the beach for some fun in the sea.

The “True Blood” babe tried her hand at boogie boarding, sporting a tank top and a pair of denim shorts as the paparazzi looked on.

Anna’s fiancé Stephen Moyer recently told press that during the beginning of their relationship they both tried to keep the public focus on their Showtime gig rather than themselves.

"Neither of us wanted our relationship to be the story. It was very nice to be able to play our lives out without any attention. And it was funny, really, because we were living in Venice and everybody in Venice knew. We’ve got loads of cafes and restaurants that we go to, so it wasn’t like we weren’t being seen together."

Showing their love for the canine population, Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer were spotted at A Night of Emotion, held at LA Dogworks last night (September 23).

The “True Blood” costars looked to be in good spirits as they mingled with fellow celebrities and posed for the paparazzi.

As for balancing their working relationship with their real-life romance, Moyer told press, "We are very relaxed together on set, off set and that can only help with some of the things that we get asked to do."

Stephen also revealed that he and Paquin were an item long before everyone found out about them. "We were very, very caged. We kept tabs on our own relationship, let alone telling anybody because we were very concerned about how it would play out given that anybody who signed up to do one of these series signs for seven years. So, you don't take a decision like that lightly."
