The 24-year-old actress - who was born and raised in Pennsylvania - admits she despises the Hollywood lifestyle but knows she had to live there in order to boost her chances of career success.

She told America's Esquire magazine: "I sacrificed six years in Los Angeles. I did my job out there. I made the contacts and did the work I had to do.

"But I came here at 18. I'm out of here at 24, and I feel lucky it wasn't longer."

The 'Jennifer's Body' actress met the British actor on the set of 'Mamma Mia!' in 2007 and while she knew there was a huge attraction between the pair she wasn't sure what would happen because he already had a long-term girlfriend, Joanna Carolan.

She said: "I fell for Dominic's sense of humour. He's just really, really funny and we fooled around so much during the rehearsals for 'Mamma Mia!' But it was messy because there was some overlap with his girlfriend who he'd been with for 12 years. I didn't know how he was going to deal with that, so we went our separate ways and I began dating someone else."

However, Dominic had decided to end his relationship and flew over to the US to win Amanda back.

She said: "Dominic flew over to Charleston, where I was filming 'Dear John', and he made sure I never saw that guy again."

The American actress decided to get the etching - which is a British slang term for vagina - after her 'Mamma Mia!' co-star Colin Firth used the word repeatedly while filming and found it hilarious when she discovered what it meant.

She told Britain's Glamour magazine: "My and my best friend Rachel McDowell, who was in 'Mamma Mia!' with me, have matching tattoos, which say 'Minge'. I've never really been a fan of tattoos, but I wanted to see what it felt like. Rachel has a lot of them.

"Anyway, Colin Firth used to say that word on the set and Rachel had to explain to me what it meant. So it's on my foot. It's to make me laugh, and every time I look at it, I do."

Will Julianne Moore (pictured) return to As the World Turns?  According to a report from EW.Com, "Sources confirm to the celebrity news media outlet "that the CBS 'sudser' is in serious talks with Julianne Moore (A Single Man) to reprise her role (roles?) as Frannie and Sabrina Hughes."  Fans are excited.

More news from the sexy actress...Moore has said she was nervous about filming kissing scenes with Amanda Seyfried in new movie Chloe. Asked if she was nervous when reading the script, the 49-year-old said to UK magazine Stylist: "Yes, and it was something I talked about frankly with the director, Atom Egoyan."

She added: It's tricky filming scenes like that, and you have to approach it in the right way so it's not gratuitous." Meanwhile, the actress turns 50 later this year, but she said she isn't too worried about hitting the milestone.
She said: "Honestly, at this moment, my age doesn't bother me, and I'm going to be 50 this year. I think I'm fortunate because I find things I want to do."

Amanda Seyfried To Wear Red Riding Hood?

Preparation on a new retelling of the Brothers Grimm's Red Riding Hood has been underway for some months now, with Twilight's Catherine Hardwicke set to direct a script by Orphan's David Johnson, and Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way company producing. Now, according to the LA Times, it's looking as if Amanda Seyfried, fresh from Dear John and Jennifer's Body, is in the running to wear the crimson cowl and take on the big bad wolf.

The Times' story also contains confirmation, if confirmation were needed given the director, that The Girl in the Red Riding Hood is very much aimed at the Twilight market, with executives all over Hollywood scrambling to find the next Edward and Bella, without producing the next Darren Shan. Johnson's script apparently constitutes "a werewolf movie with a teenage love triangle at its centre".

Johnson recently completed a new draft of the script, which has garnered the right kinds of thumbs up as "elevated genre material", whatever that's supposed to mean. It's unlikely that we're looking at a Company of Wolves here, that's for sure (or even a Freeway). But whatever you thought of Jennifer's Body, there's no denying that Amanda Seyfried was every bit as much the star of the show as Megan Fox. For anyone looking to build a new teen franchise, she'd seem to us to be a reliable centre.

Amanda Seyfried didn't want her mother to see her kiss Megan Fox.

The blonde star was mortified when her parents insisted on watching 'Jennifer's Body', in which Amanda and Megan share a steamy encounter.

She said: "My mom and dad have just seen a film of mine with nudity. My mom saw me have sex with two different types of people on screen. She knows it's acting but it's not necessarily OK with me.

"It was difficult when my mom sat down with me to watch 'Jennifer's Body'."

Amanda previously revealed she found locking lips with 23-year-old Megan for the high school horror movie "uncomfortable".

She said: "It was my first time doing a real kissing scene with a woman. It is just weird. It is a woman. With a woman's smell - soft and floral-y - and maybe the pheromones are different. Something about it felt uncomfortable for me."

Always looking to put her fame to good use, Amanda Seyfried was spotted at the 7th Annual “Acts of Love” benefit on Saturday (October 3).

The “Mama Mia!” starlet looked lovely as she arrived at the Broad Stage in Santa Monica for the Autism Speaks-sponsored shindig, sporting a cute and conservative black dress teamed with a pair of grey heels.

In a recent interview, Amanda revealed the embarrassment she experienced during her fall at this year’s Academy Awards.

“The evening before the ceremony, we rehearsed all night and at the dress rehearsal on the day, we nailed it. But during the actual Oscars show, it was a disaster. I fell down the stairs! Just as well Dominic (Cooper) was holding my hand or I’d have been on my a**. Then my heel got caught in my fishnets during one of the really important turns,”

Amanda Seyfried thought her boyfriend Dominic Cooper was gay when she met him.

The blonde actress, who has been dating her 'Mamma Mia!' co-star for over a year, initially believed the British hunk wouldn't be interested in her because of his fashion sense.

She said: "It so wasn't instant love. I thought he was gay. I didn't know many Englishmen and it was just the way he dressed - he is quite fashionable.

"Dominic and I split off towards the end of filming a little bit, but it was never anything that was real. It takes time. Life is complicated."

The US-born actress is now convinced British men are sexier than their American counterparts.

She said: "I am going to say something very cliched, but the accent is sexier in Britain. And British men dress so well and have really good manners. Charm is another thing they have - they're good at putting you at ease. You feel like an equal, or at least comfortable.

Sharing a romantic moment, Amanda Seyfried and her boyfriend Dominic Cooper were spotted smooching during a lunch date in New York City on Thursday (September 24).

Meeting up at Bar Pitti, the young lovers held one another as they readied for their afternoon meal - chowing down at the popular eatery before exiting past nearby paparazzi.

Meanwhile, Miss Seyfried recently opened up about her smooch with Megan Fox in "Jennifer's Body," telling GQ: "There may be one trailer where it's literally two full minutes of us making out. A lot of people in the world want to make out with Megan Fox, and she's good. She has a lot of lips. We both have a lot of lips. It was very feminine."

And though the film boasts the must-see moment, it didn't fare all that well at the box office, making less than $7 million in its opening weekend.

Amanda Seyfried's 'uncomfortable' Kiss

Amanda Seyfried said it was "uncomfortable" kissing Megan Fox.

The 23-year-old actress locks lips with the Hollywood beauty for their new horror film 'Jennifer's Body', but insists it was an awkward scene to film because she knows it will "turn on" the audience.

She said: "I was uncomfortable, because I normally kiss men. Even in front of people, to kiss someone for the first time, female or male, is still awkward.

"It's also awkward when you're being filmed doing it. And then, of course, there's still the producers that get to watch that scene every day, and you're like - it's inevitable, men are going to get turned on. You know people are going to get turned on when they see this, because it's, you know, taboo."

Although Amanda felt awkward smooching Megan, she is not normally fearful of locking lips in front of the camera.

The screen beauty - who is dating her 'Mamma Mia!' co-star Dominic Cooper - added: "Sometimes I have a good time making out with my co-stars, male co-stars, because it's easy and totally, completely not real. I'm more comfortable with it, because I've kissed boys before in my life. So it's just more comfortable. I think why I felt so intimidated by Megan. Also, with a female, I was worried that she would judge me. It was also awkward because we're kind of pals."
