Nicole Richie has been hospitalized for pneumonia at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, the former reality TV personality's publicist said.

Richie, a 28-year-old mother of two young children, is the daughter of singer Lionel Richie and the girlfriend of rocker Joel Madden. She is best known for co-starring with Paris Hilton on the reality TV program "The Simple Life."

Richie's representative confirmed to People.com Wednesday that she has been hospitalized, but is "doing well."
