One - Mickey's birthday is celebrated Wednesday because Steamboat Willie, the first Mickey Mouse cartoon, was released on November 18, 1928.  "Mickey was created as a replacement for Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, an earlier cartoon character created by the Disney studio for Charles Mintz of Universal Studios," reports E Canada Now.

Two - Extra TV is reporting that Penelope Cruz still won't admit she's engaged to Javier Bardem, but she's not exactly denying it either. In a coy interview on the "Late Show with David Letterman" Tuesday night, she artfully dodged the question.  Pop Journal has the highlights along with a gorgeous photo of the actress.
